Humanity Falls - Ordaining the Apocalypse

Humanity Falls "Ordaining The Apocalypse" Review - 92%

brutalcontrol, October 14th, 2011

I am very impressed by Humanity Falls. They are from New York, but they don't have the whole NYHC or NYDM vibe. They definitely have their own thing going. Their myspace says "death metal/grindcore/experimental". I believe they are all that and so much more.

The only way I can describe Humanity Falls (and this won't even do it justice) is to put the experimentation of bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, Cipher, and Candiria in a blender with the death metal of Immolation and the grindcore aspects of Brutal Truth/Discordance Axis.

They are hard to describe, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. This is heavy music for sure, but to label it "heavy" would be a cop out. There is a great break in the insanity about halfway through the record with an instrumental entitled "At The Temple of Everlasting Condemnation". It is very spacey and minimalist. It breaks the heavy pace set by the rest of the album.

"Ordaining The Apocalypse" is really unique as they attack from a lot of different angles. I can imagine the live show is nuts.

Their songs are their own but yet not one song sounds like an imprint of another. I dig this record. A lot. If you like death metal growls and experimental grindcore check out Humanity Falls. They provide the listener with intense tempo changes, sick instrumentation, and nasty, inhuman vocals. These guys will rip your face off!

Please seek them out. This record was released on The Path Less Traveled.
