Continuing on from their debut EP we have their 10 minute long so called "full-length" Short 2 Pleaze, which ever so slightly can be considered an improvement on their previous headache. The vocalist sounds better at times up until the very last song a which point the production quality drops significantly. Majority of the time, the guy is trying too hard and is basically yelling over the riffs. Each song averages a little over a minute, this time they are siding more with Municipal Waste by playing thrashier songs while at times blurting out that cocky yet lackluster "HOT ZONE MOTHERFUCKER" stuff. They still exhibit the try hard thug attitude commonly seen in bottom of the barrel hardcore outfits that ultimately falls flat. I actually believe they put more effort into COVIgnorant than this piss poor offering because the songs are more simplistic on this "full-length". That being said, the riffs are better and as far as I can tell are far more original this time round. Much like Municipal Waste, they are playing repetitive, short but in your face riffs.
They may consider this a full-length album but to me this is technically another EP since it is so short. Maybe that's the point, I don't know nor do I care. It's not clever just disappointing. The way I look at it, DRI's Crossover is 40 minutes long and Napalm Death's Scum is 33 minutes long, so this doesn't match up by a longshot by crossover and even grindcore standards... If they don't want to put in the work to write another 20 songs that is fine, but it comes short of what an actual full-length is supposed to be. I genuinely think they couldn't write any more songs at that given time so after they slapped this together, they must have decided it was good enough to release. If they mashed all 3 of their releases as from 2020, they would have a complete album (44.32) instead of this super short, unpleazant, and inadequate display.
Lyrically, things have diversified beyond cops this and Covid that by diving into other subjects such as: goths, Justin Bieber, 40 oz. beers before shorties or some shit, and whatever Cannibullshit is supposed to be about. They still mention cops and some current event based things but at least it isn't all they talk about. That is an improvement to say the least. The attitude expressed on this is that of someone trying to be hard when they really aren't and it's kind of sad honestly. They've decided to take the joke band approach it seems, which is funny because they aren't exactly the best at creating something laughable on purpose, but I digress. Bands like this are so disposable and uninteresting it makes me wonder why there are so many take this path. I'm not saying music has to be serious but it has to be good first. Sadly many don't get the memo, sounding like shit and being the musical embodiment of a class clown minus the charm isn't a selling point. There's a reason the members choose to remain anonymous. They're embarrassed of this project and likely don't want to be associated with it in real life.
The songwriting is very mediocre because they exert the most basic understanding of thrash metal riffs through mindless chugging which is far more apparent in this album than on COVIgnorant. The solos and riffs are nothing special, they usually play around the same fast paced tempo on each song but there are a few moments where they slow down and play something with a little groove to it. The structure and arrangement of the individual songs are passable but it has no real flow to it. When one song ends the next one begins and they all have the same feeling to it. Sure, some songs are different to a degree but they are stylistically the same in approach . If they focused more on serving the song, they could actually write something that isn't a wannabe Body Waste/Municipal Count collaboration. Needless to say there is nothing redeeming about this band in my eyes. Avoid.
Highlight of the Album: Same Old Doomstep because of the decent guitar work.
