Hibria has gotten rid of the failing Iuri, and replaced him with Viktor, a man that honestly, sounds a lot like Iuri did in his glory days. This is important, but maybe not as important as this song seeing the band leaving their bullshit edgy lyrical take behind, and going back to more genuinely uplifting power metal lyrics and feel. This track is tight, flashy, speedy and melodic, just like Hibria used to be.
This song does have an intro, unfortunately, one with an echoey voice and a wobbly bass part that might make you believe this song will have a much darker tone and feel than what it ends up having. A nice choppy melodic riff leads in, moving into a part with some bass fills before getting into the verse where we get to hear the new singer in action for the first time. His vocals are pure power metal, clear, and powerful, no edgy garbage. This verse leads into the simple but emotionally resonant chorus, which is followed by a little refrain with a nice brief polyrhythm in the drum fill. After another repeat of verse-chorus we get a nice neo-classical multi-part guitar solo section.
"In our eyes, are the gleams of our dreams" says the chorus, and well, I sure hope this kind of song is the gleam in this band's eye. This song is everything I want from this band. It's remarkable that there is only one founding member and the remainder are pretty much brand new, yet they are able to put out a song as good as any they've ever done.
