Glittertind - Mellom bakkar og berg

Vinkingrock/metal mix - 70%

Swedhawk, January 27th, 2005

Glittertind is a band that are balancing on the edge between vikingrock and Vintersorg influenced folk/viking metal. I thought at first this was a vikingrock album. Some of the songs have a Vintersorg sound about them. The vocals are clean and have a nice norweigian accent. There are only growl on one song(Strid). There is a big difference between the songs. Some have are cathsy norweigian folk songs while other have a more Vinstersorg feeling about them. The first song Mellom Bakkar Og Berg is a more slow folk/viking song while Viking Era has a more vikingrock. The outro Skumring is a pure folk metal song with a little weird sound but it holds. I Graanskogens Dyp are an calm aucustic song with clean norweigan vocals with deep emotion. Some of the songs are in english.

The recording are not really first class here.

Well to summon all the facts about this album its a mix between old Vintersorg, punk elements, folk/vikingmetal, and Ultima Thule.
