This is a real fantastic album. The songs on here sound superb. There’s elements of thrash metal, heavy metal and even old school sounding punk rock. This album has some real explicit content on it and it would not fair well with anyone easily offended. Read the song titles and you will find out that it’s meant for older audiences. In fact, it has a man who is no stranger to explicit content at all. It features the late El Duce. Notably, this is one of the final recordings with El Duce on vocals. Actually this might be the final recording with El Duce.
I’m glad that El Duce was the lead vocalist on this album. It would have been radically different if he was not on here. it probably wouldn’t have been that funny or explicit. El Duce sings perfectly on here, you are able to understand 99% of what he is singing. His enunciation is excellent and coherent. You might find his vocals to be a bit weird, but I don’t. I’ve been listening to him for years. His best lyrics are found in Goldigger, Senior Citizen Sodomizer, Help! Dr. Foster, Jackin’ Goin’ On and Buck Naked.
Senior Citizen Sodomizer and Buck Naked have the most hilarious lyrics. Senior Citizen Sodomizer is about El Duce being sexually into old women. It’s ultra hilarious, there’s funny rhymes on this song. Buck Naked about El Duce being in prison for so long, then he gets and he wants his woman to sit on his “dong”. He tells his woman to be naked and insults her. I laugh every time I listen to Buck Naked. It’s a shame this is of El Duce’s final recordings. I find his lyrics humorous on all of the songs. There is a hidden track on this album. It only has El Duce talking. He talks about things going on his life at the moment. It’s somewhat eerie since it’s probably one of the final things he said on a record. Don’t worry, it’s nothing sad. It’s quite funny and I don’t want to ruin it for you. You’ll have to find out on your own.
This album also features excellent riffs by Ben Meyer and Andy Adcock. Meyer was in Nasty Savage and the riffs he plays on here were intended to be on a Nasty Savage record. That didn’t materialize and they ended up being on Perverts on Parade. I remember reading that somewhere and I believe it. A few riffs on here sound like something that would be on Nasty Savage album, especially the ones found in Golddigger, The New Gardy Loo and Clitoctomy. Those sound like something from a thrash metal song and I know Nasty Savage is a thrash metal band. There’s some simple sounding riffs like in Squeal Like a Pig, Goldigger and Jackin’ Goin’ On. They remind me of old style punk rock riffs. It doesn’t surprise me at all. Elements of punk are found in many metal albums that I’ve listened to over the years
The bass and drums are excellent on this album. There’s times where the bass sounds super great, especially on Squeal Like a Pig and Senior Citizen Sodomizer. The late Richard Bateman rocks on bass. His bass does get drowned at times, the other aspects overpower his bass. This happens on metal albums, even on the best metal albums. The drums are top notch on all of the songs. No complaints from me when it comes to the drums. Toby Casky uses a real good drum kit. Nothing fancy schmancy, technical or out of this world drumming. It’s straight forward drumming and I like that. I will say that Casky has chops and his drumming shines on songs such as Squeal Like a Pig, The New Gardy Loo, Jackin’ Goin’ On and Buck Naked.
You’ll have fun listening to this album. The bottom line is, it’s a real damn awesome album. It’s not for anyone easily offended, especially the song Buck Naked. For fans of the Mentors, you need to listen to this. You will enjoy it since it has the legendary El Duce. Not only that, the rest of the guys perform extremely well. This is an A+ album and it’s too bad that it doesn’t get much recognition.
