G-Zet - G-Zet

The Japanese equivalent of Motorhead - 70%

raspberrysoda, June 23rd, 2016

This album is nothing but total Motorhead worship. Punky riffs, gruff vocals, pace-keeping drums, and pummeling bass, which are all featured in the trademark Motorhead sound are featured here in their entire glory. The only thing that differs G-Zet from Motorhead is the more Sabbathian feel to the music (doesn't the second track have a riff very similar to Symptom of the Universe?) and the use of very few riffs per song which enhances the punky feeling of this album.

Spanning at 18 minutes, this album doesn't have a lot to offer, musically, but it sure packs a lot of young energy and attitude. Take the songs G Motor Zet and Dog Eat Dog- both have very simple and repetitive power chord riffs, but their magic is used to the max and is shown in its full pride. The only negative things in this album are that the songs here could've had their length reduced by about 30 seconds for each, and the instrumentals of this album (the intro and 99 Sheeps) which could've been removed completely. Recommended for fans of raw punk heavy metal.
