Earslaughter? Eargasm more likely - 85%

So this is where it all started for E.N.T. studiowise. Still with their first drummer (Pig Killer) and bassplayer (Jerry Clay) but almost just as impressive as their works with Harris and Dickens. Notable difference with their other ’87-’90 recordings are the loudly produced upfront vocals and guitar tone which still is more punk than crossoverish crust here. The bass guitar already is a puddle of distorted mud.

One could only complain later works had a heavier guitar tone and/or more memorable songs than this release. Still there are a few E.N.T. classics here like “False Profit” and “Murder”.

“You Really Make Me Sick ” and “Fucked Up System” are the hiddem gems here even though being more punk than crust riffwise. Still this easily beats the crap out of the cheesy ’95 album ‘Retro-bution’ on which re-recorded classics sounded too polished and neat as if it were a death metal band paying tribute instead of the real E.N.T..

Intensity is the key to good crustcore and a lot of that is present here, making this a more than excellent release from E.N.T. even though the next 3 years would see even better releases.
