Two of the best bands from the North of Italy here gathered in a split album with inedit material, both of them with four songs. Exsecratum from Brescia (Brix...) present really good songs, showing us a real maturation of sound in the first two of them (the better of those is "War of Colours"), with variations of time and suddenly breaks. The other two are closer to their previous release, being composed with very cool riffs and having a dark and cold atmosphere ("Om Salvarek" it's really evocative). A good anticipation of the future for a really valid band. The other part of the split (...Heim) is in the hands of Imago Mortis from Bergamo, another great band that in this split doesn't changes it's classical BM sound, but accentuates the singing in Italian language, being three of the songs singed in Italian (one of them in the classic dialect of Bergamo). This thing, surely, will be so much criticized, but my opinion is that, listening to many bands from different places sing in their home language, why the fuck shouldn't an Italian sing in its idiom or dialect? Anyway, my favorites of their part are "Luna Rosso Sangue", with a chasing mood, and "Fredda Costellazione d'Inverno" for it's classic BM spirit. To end, a good split to listen and to support, for the presence of two nice Italian realities.
