Tonight We Fight!!!! - 85%

Exdeth's first demo isn't necessarily anything innovative or original, it's more or less a throwback to the late 80s retro thrash demo -- a fluent mix of the classic thrash bands. And I'm aware that many people are tired of that type of music by now, but this is retro thrash done right!

The riffs are the best part about the demo -- they're executed extremely well and very well written. There are two main types of riffs on the demo (excluding the eerie, opening clean riff) -- extremely fast thrash riffs, which, by the way, are some of the best in the genre, and slow, heavy death metal-esque riffs that leave you feeling like you're about to get your ass handed to you by the monster on the album cover.

The drums are pretty standard thrash drums. I'd compare them to Dave Lombardo. They have either slow, hi-hat-driven grooves, or extremely fast blast-beats. They're above average, but nothing particularly notable.

The vocals are my least favorite part about Exdeth. They sound like a Chihuahua getting punched in the stomach, and are very irritating. Despite this, they do have their moments, when Martin attempts to sound like a normal human being in "Crush Your Face," or the Angel of Death scream at the beginning of "Violent Disorder." Unfortunately these moments aren't very frequent.

The bass is pretty much a mixed-bag type of situation. When you can hear it, it sounds awesome, but it's too bad that for most of the album it's nearly inaudible.

Overall, it's a well done retro thrash album, but the vocals and drums need work.
I'd recommend it.
