Exarsis is a band that despite not being one of my favourite ones, I enjoy them quite a lot, mainly if we talk about this album. I remember having met them because of their "After Nuclear Devastation" cover (a really good cover, btw). I searched if it was from a particular album, and that's why I found out The Human Project, their only album (to date) without a review.

I think I first have to make something clear to explain more appropriately my point of view.

This is an album for thrash metal fans. What I mean is that this will be a very enjoyable album if you are used to listening to this particular subgenre, as it includes various of its most known clichés. You know them: palm-muted-open-string-based riffs, fast tempos, repetitive drum rhythms and little variation in its musical style. No risks are taken and no new things are added. It's just thrash. HOWEVER, this won't be a problem if you just want to headbang, mosh and drink beer for a while in a reunion or something like that. And you know what? The album is perfectly enjoyable once or maybe twice if you put in your earphones while doing your day-to-day activities, as it's nothing that you need to pay much attention to.

This is thrash metal with no pretensions. It knows that it is. Fast, insane, full of technical solos, with a constant usage of three-strikes-based riffs and a peculiar voice that may sound annoying at the beginning due to its acute tone, but believe me when I tell you that it's kind of addictive. Thrash metal has never been a genre with many remarkable singers, and this is not the exception. It's a similar case to Vio-Lence's or Overkill's. If you enjoy these bands, be sure that you will enjoy Exarsis with no problem.

I reiterate. The Human Project is nothing special, but it is perfectly enjoyable if you don't look for something spectacular. Enjoy it and have fun for a while.
