Now this is a great example of what thrash metal should be...heavier than a mountain, louder than a rocket ship, angrier than a bee hive being pelted by rocks, crunchier than a box of Cracker Jacks, this thing is just BRUTAL. It starts out immediately grabbing your attention with some ominous bell sounds, then a jet engine, and we know whats in for us next......"Thrashers", although not the most original title, (remember, these guys are from Belgium) shows you what this band is here to do, play some thrash fucking metal! The main riff drives the song along with a very nice fast-mid-paced beat. You'll notice a lot of time changes that add a lot to the chaotic, frenzied atmosphere of the record, and also the singer (imagine a demented mixture of James Hetfield and the guy from Exumer, but without sounding shitty). In fact, it all just adds up to the uncompromising sound and attitude. There's a lot of variety between the songs too. Tracks like "Don't Kill The Animals" sounds like something you'd hear off of Assassin's first album or even Violent Force, with those almost-but-not-quite-blastbeats throughout and shrieked out vocals. In fact, I had to check twice to see if these guys were from Germany. Then right after that, "The Gang" has a sort of Iron Maidenesque intro and goes into a heavy as hell pounding beat that drives the song along, followed by some intense thrashing, then some more mammoth-like breakdowns. All the songs keep this sort of feel, but I'd have to say the self-titled track "Evil Sinner" takes the trophy, this thing just smashes your skull with its main riff, this is the kind of song you play at maximum volume while drunk and go into complete fist banging fury, then theres some insane thrashing, and then more great main riff. Overall, if you're looking for some good thrash to check out, look no further. If I had to describe this album in one word.....frenzied, absolutely frenzied. Hell yeah.
