Everflow - Abandoned

Amazing! - 90%

rbrigade, February 24th, 2010

Another strong card of the greek metal scene that surfaced during the last year. Everflow, based in Ptolemaida (a small city in northern Greece- Macedonia) manage to out-match most of their fellow greek competitors with their songwriting quality, musicianship and professional production.

The ‘’Abandoned’’ ep contains five songs and all are impressive. The band plays lyrical power/progressive metal, but unlike most other greek bands of this genre their songs don’t lose focus, yet remain technically demanding, complex and well thought. The guitar work doesn’t fall in the trap of useless aggressiveness yet remains as powerful as required in a metal album. The solos are fantastic, used with prudence but also displaying special inspiration.

Mark’s vocals are incredible. He sings in high notes and possesses a remarkable expressiveness as well as a very good accent. You don’t find singers like him easily anymore, even in foreign bands.

I don’t know when these guys are going to release their debut, but when they do go grab it at once! Until then you can make their myspace your homepage…
