Goatfucked Demology: The Years of HellNoize

I received this double disc compilation of Enbilulugugal out of the blue, from the mighty Keith Dempe of Eternal Darkness Creations. I had no clue what their music was like. One thing I noticed first was the very over the top song titles. With song titles like "Gut the Holy Bitch, Rape Her Insides, Eat Her Shredded Entrails," " DemonRaping of the Black Shit Covered Nun," and "Satan Thrashes Upon the Warfucked Body of Christ," I thought, "is this band serious?" It's not always the right way, but usually I can judge a band if it's serious or not by listening to their music. When I listened to both discs I was quite surprised, and even "impressed."

With "music" as chaotic, fucked up and noisy as this I can't say I care much if it's not entirely serious. When it comes to "noise" I usually take the band how it's supposed to be; just noise. I throw ideas like "great musicianship" out the window and appreciate the music for what it is. In this case the intention of the band seems clear; to make absolutely disturbing and hellish noise metal. There are so many fucking tracks on these cds that I cannot review each individual track. I guess I will settle with giving a general description. Just about every track is ridden with massive distortion, harsh, grating guitar riffs. Mostly of guitar riffs are even quite hard to make out. Everything is buried under a mess of distortion. Alot of the tracks, mostly on the second disc, are just pure ear grating noise with no vocals. Distortion and guitar scraping. Usually most people when hearing such a description, or listening to this stuff, will say "it's just pure crap, pointless noise." They might be right, but I would have to disagree. The one thing I can say this band has is...atmosphere.

When listening to these tracks, images of hellfire and blood soaked bestial rituals come to mind. The drums are mostly quite sloppy and random, but do the job in aiding to this mess of torture. The vocals I have to say are quite interesting. A totally frantic wailing, screaming. They definitely sound like the person doing the vocals just got released from an insane asylum and is cutting chunks of his flesh off while being raped by a black goat....or something. I also heard the main man behind this project is a Somoan. It's quite known that alot of Somoans are some of the most tough, brutal, and vicious people on earth. Could this be some sort of influence?

Anyhow, I give this release a 75, which I'm sure many people would think too high of a rating. But again, I don't give a fuck. I'll enjoy this hellnoise whenever I wish. If you are an audio masochist who wants a night of noise torture, this is for you. For those that would find this stuff too "noisy" I'd suggest getting their full length album, "Noizemongers For Goatserpent," it actually has riffs you can make out! And some "song structure" you can enjoy while murdering your parents, or strangling your girlfriend. Anyway, I feel I've said enough about this fucked up hellnoise. Enjoy....or not.
