Disorder are yet another promsing US power metal band, most likely forming out of the later school (88-90) who play the considerably thrash influenced, frantic variety of the genre. With only the '89 demo and an appearnace along with thrashers Num Skull and Masada on the underground metal comp At the Foot Of Brutality in '89, not a lot is known about the band behind this ballsy, venomous slice of cutting, furious demo. What we do know, based on some listenings of this release, is that the band knew their way around a metal song, that's for darn sure, with 4 cuts on offer of solid steel forming a solid demo here with comparisons to Graven Image and Anaconda being appropriate.
Anyhow, kicking things off with 'Warmonger', the band pretty much prove themsleves off the bat. This song is no slouch - about as furious, frantic, dark, evil and screaming as US power gets, this one features snarling vocals, soaring, screaching evil highs, nasty guitars and a blistering thuderstorm on the drums. If that one doesn't kick your ass hard enough, the ominously titled 'Ending is Near' should kick the remainder of your teeth in. Upping the pace, this Mercyful Fate-ish number mixes sweltering pace, crushing riffs, soaring and demonic vocal screams with about the cooest display of raw, hammering and forceful drums in heavy metal. 'Six Feet Under' crushes resistance tough as nails sloganry belted out in darkly reverbed vocals and satanic guitar riffs, interlaced with another drumming thunderstorm, While the closer is as upthrust an proud as any other track on the record.
This one's fucking Valhalla bought to life on record. With theevil vocal screams, punishingly tough lyrics, wall of lead drums, and crunching, heavy as anything riffs, this is about as awesome and satanic a piece of powerthrash as anything put to tape ever. Another release that makes your dick erect, this is absolute heavy metal magic - and feels like a bunch of demons wailing from hell while thunderstorms reign down from above. Some real Mercyful Fate touches, Graven Image comparisons and some heavy, heavy riffs, this demonic recording needs to be heard to be believed - an absolute heavy metal gem.
