Three Neuron Kings

Disillusion are, without a doubt one of my all time favourite bands. Back to Times of Splendor is definitely my number one album of all time, and Gloria takes them in a new exciting direction. I finally managed to get a hold of Three Neuron Kings (the EP being pretty rare) and I was not in any way disappointed! The band proves what I already knew - they are the masters (or kings?) of the Progressive death metal genre.

Musically we have heavy, driving guitars, fast paced drumming, with the soaring keybaords adding impressive melodic sound to it. Vurtox's vocals are perfect, growling and snarling when the music dictates, and bringing it down to clean vocals when necessary. All this combines to make a heavy, fast yet melodic piece of progressive and musical genius.

There isn't much more to say. There are clear steps forward from this to Back to Times of Splendor, and this proves the bands' kingship in the progressive genre.
