Disgorged Foetus - The Gore Party

Damn this is nasty gore metal!! - 85%

Man if you thought early Carcass was nasty and vile this band takes the cake. Hard to believe this is nearly 20 years old but still it's really sick and gory deathgrind. I remember finding this album at a distro that had a variety of sick death metal bands and these guys stood out. This is some really over the top gore grind folks..hardly any melodic stuff just real sewage gore metal with disgusting pitch shifted vocals and a real nasty bass and guitar tone. This is really sick shit guys...just so you know this makes early Carcass sound tame. This is the first thing I heard from them so it was my introduction to the sickening sounds they puke out.

The production on this Ep is really raw and the distorted bass guitar is so putrid sounding. There are some slower parts and some mid paced parts in these songs mixed in which is a great thing for doom fans like me. The songs are mostly short and sweet no screwing around...very sick and the lyrics are just like the songs on the old Carcass albums. Crazy long song titles with some medical terms. Truly repulsive stuff here not for the weak just to remind you all. I think these guys wanted to top those gore grind bands with the really nasty tones and vocals that will make your stomach turn.

They cover a song by the German band Gut who is obviously a big influence on them. Gut was one of those 90's gore grind acts who took the Carcass and Regurgitate and Impetigo sound to deliver some sick shit as well. You can tell that Disgorged Foetus was carrying on that style. This Ep doesn't let up for a minute with the attack either. Just like a lot of those gore grind acts the horror movie samples are in front of some of the songs. Like I say they always set you up for the sickness before the music regurgitates. My favorite songs are the slower ones 'Embreyonic Necrophagus' and 'Orgy In A Mucupurulent Wound'. They've got some chuggy riffs that are really vile. The drums on this Ep are good but minimal which can get a bit stale that shaves off a few points for me. But I understand what they were going for...brutality and sickness is their intent with no limits on how gross they can get.

I hope to see these guys come to the USA soon they're not too well known in the underground scene over here but I'd sure like to see them live. Another bucket list band I'd like to see I hope it'll happen. So if you can find this Ep it's worth a listen if you love the sicker gore grind bands from the late 90's and early 2000's. I recently heard they were reactivated as a band and have some new music out so that's good. Hope they can churn out some more vile sickness that'll be worth listening to.
