Australian blackened death thrashers Destruktor are back with their third album nine years after its predecessor. Let’s see if this one has been worth the wait. Release is set for October 18th via Hells Headbangers.

Pounding drums storm into life, met by ravaging guitars and hellish vocals. The bestial hymns of violence waste no time in launching a visceral attack upon the senses. Savagely beating the skins while the demonic riffs serpentine around malicious snarls, instantly that Australian extreme metal feeling is alive and burning feverishly bright. Taking some of the riffing styles of 80s German thrash metal then throwing it headlong into the abysses of blackened death metal carnage, there is a strong and unholy yet classic feeling to this record that will grip you from the beginning. Combining a raw assault with a strong production, the opening moments of this record fire on all cylinders with a straight-to-the-face hammer-blow of pure satanic might.

Cascading hailstorms of hellish blasphemy will torment all lovers of the cross, while defilers and hellraisers will be in ecstasy when they hear these hymns of hatred. Their sadistic sorcery is utterly ferocious and yet these frantic bouts of savagery that seemingly never end, remain sharp and do not dull or weaken. There is enough of a dynamic mix to keep things fresh while the relentless tempest of horror certainly doesn’t give much respite. I suppose when you hail from the same country as Sadistik Exekution, there’s either an expectation or something in the water that makes you a total maniac. Destruktor certainly fits the bill with their heinously heavy and brutal approach to music that is built to howl mockery at the cross.

“Indomitable” certainly seems a fitting title as the record never feels remotely subdued or anything short of rabid. The primal nature of the music is cleverly executed to keep you hungry for more without getting obnoxious or frilly with the playing style. Chomping at the bit with frothing mouths, this evil horde will dominate you ’til the last with their merciless mayhem. Of course you could flock to some more friendly and fun thrash metal of the modern kind, but the bestial hordes remain here, free from posers. I’ve always thought this band is an underrated gem that suits dwelling in the murk of obscurity, unpolished and ready to strike with all their venomous might. With a long history and consistently high quality, if sparse, releases; Destruktor remain triumphant and cruel.

Violent, evil and fearsome extreme metal that blends those black, thrash and death elements in perfect harmony to conjure a maelstrom of morbidity with no remorse. Fans of Gospel Of The Horns, Deströyer 666, Nocturnal Graves and the like will certainly enjoy sinking their wolven fans into this gospel of barbarity. Follow this half hour journey on the path to Lucifer, it’s a real rough ride that you won’t get sick of!
