After a while away from thrash metal bands in general, it came up to my mind to write a review about a local band I used to listen some years ago, I was more attracted to their debut "Delirium" it was solid, prety good full of social discomforts in their lyrics and some that were more dramatic than I was expecting.
So yes, after their great debut and my lack of interest in thrash metal here I am, listening to "Errant" what's supposed to be their 5th studio album, I decided to avoid their other 3 for the simple reason that I wanted to experience a kind of "shock" I was expecting them to have change in their sound in a radical way, and yes they did, the first impression I had is their juvenile sound in this release, it might be positive or negative depends on how "metal-nazi-head" you are, however, the songwriting is very solid, the guitars sounds great but too basic for my taste, nothing new, but in the track titled "Honduras" you can hear the guitar arrangments are a little bit diffrent, reminds me of a track from Red Sparowes, different genres but the technique in the guitar playing I mean, I'm not surprised of their popularity in Honduras they deserve it, especially when you take on consideration the honduran scene is full of nostalgic ass bands, you proably enjoy when a band is making something fresh in a scene saturated by what I already mentioned.
The track Tegucigalpa(I guess named because of the capital of Honduras) seems to keep the same line as Honduras, the guitar technique seems to go through another direction after the first two tracks, not sure if they know the first impression matters especially when you're trying to make a living from it, I doubt they make music for money, since making a living from metal music seems difficult in these times if not impossible.
When I first heard the vocalist show up I realized I heard that voice before, so I went to his profile and noticed he used to play in other band called "Thy Providence" and there was Nilo Espinal another local singer with the same surname who's the main vocalist for Diablos Negros a well known rock band from Honduras, not surprised at all, in a small country like this one might expect the scenes not only musical but also politically to be made up from people who knows someone else (usually family, friends) and then so, the coincidences are not coincidences anymore, it doesn't matter as far as they keep making some good music.
The sound quality has improved after all those years, the record is solid, reminds me of the great international acts, don't get mw wrong they have their own sound as well.
