Here we have Darkest Seed's first release, "The Seed is Rising". I discovered this album while browsing blogspot, I downloaded It out of curiosity and It was a very fun listen. The vocalist, Benhur Lima has a great voice for metal, he has an awesome vocal range, and you can almost feel the emotion in his voice. Russel Allan of Symphony X is only other vocalist that I can think of that has a voice that is somewhat similar to Benhur Lima's.
The first two tracks on the EP, "The Darkest Seed" and "Silent Scream", sound fairly similar to one another. They're both very upbeat, and fun songs. Although there's no complicated drum beats, guitar riffs or solos, the drumming is clear throughout both songs and it sounds decent.
The final track on the EP is a cover of Queen's "The Show Must Go on", and it's a really good one. Darkest Seed give the song more of a hard rock edge, and I would take it over the orginal, anyday. Benhur Lima's voice is much more powerful and emotional than Freddie's was, and It really shines though in this song.
So if you're a fan of power metal with a hard rock edge, then you should definitely check these guys out.
