Cryogenic Defilement - Worldwide Extermination

They go bonkers again, but with more songs - 96%

This band from Hong Kong did prove they have tons of potential. They kick it up on notch on their debut album. This debut album is best described as explosive. Worldwide Extermination is a slam death metal album mixed with technical death metal. It sounds quite superb, even with one guitarist. Eric Chueng continued as the guitarist and I have no idea what happened to Wilson Ng. Not good enough? Maybe he was busy with other things? I have no clue why he’s not present on this album. They found a permanent vocalist named Derek Tak Chan. Mou Anal is back as the drummer. They have put together an excellent album.

This album has some guest vocalists, but how is the permanent vocalist? Derek Tak Chan is good on 4 of the 9 songs he’s only on. He’s on Daddy’s Home, Butchery Section, Pussy Juice and Unleash the Slamming Bulldozer. He’s just as unique as the two guest vocalists on the demo, a perfect fit for the band. He’s different and he fits with the band quite nicely. He has this one type of vocal that I can’t describe, it’s quite insane. His vocals on Unleash the Slamming Bulldozer sound quite awesome and somewhat better than the vocals on the demo. He’s simply an insane sounding vocalist that sounds unique from other vocalists in the brutal death metal realm.

The guest vocalists vocalize with Derek Tak Chan and they blend in with him. I am familiar with Jason Evans from Ingested and Duncan Bentley from Vulvodynia. They sound brutal as usual on the tracks they appear on. Jason Evans is with Luke Griffin, I don’t know Luke Griffins. They’re on the title track and they sound pretty damn brutal. Luke Griffins was a guest vocalist on Vulvodynia. I’m also not familiar with Rok Rupnik, Shaun Apellido and Nase Khan. They do sound good. I have no idea where Khan is from, it’ll be mystery why and how he’s a guest vocalist. Perhaps he’s some up and coming vocalist in the brutal death metal realm. I hope he returns. We’ll never know for sure.

The instrumentation is bonkers like on the demo. Eric Chueng on guitar is brilliant. He performs some deadly sound guitar riffs. The most deadly sounding riffs are on Sickness Descends, Daddy’s Home, Uterine, Intercourse and the title track. He has some technical guitar work on Pussy Juice Dispenser. Of course the technical guitar work is present on Posted Aborted Fetus Ingestion and Unleash the Slamming Bulldozer, which are on the demo. Of course, he does those brutal slamming death metal riffs. They are quite damn heavy, especially on Uterine Intercourse. It’s a brutal and fantastic song in general. The drumming by Mou Anal sounds a bit more crazy and technical on this album. His best drumming can be found on Bludgeoned Vagina, Butchery Section and Pussy Juice Dispenser. He does some off the wall things on the drums. It’s no shock since he sounded like that on the demo. He pushes himself more on this album.

It’s a phenomenal album that slam death metal fans will most likely enjoy. Even technical death metal fans may appreciate this one. I forgot to mention that this album is much louder than the demo, which is an excellent improvement. Oh and there’s a creepy sample that plays in the beginning of Daddy’s Home. It sets the tone of the song. It does have a bunch of guest vocalists on that you might or might not be familiar with. You’re most likely not going to be familiar with them if you don’t listen to brutal death metal bands. That’s not a problem since you might discover the bands these guest vocalists are from.
