This is the debut album of the promising Argentinean band Criptofonia. After almost 8 years thrashing in the underground local scene, these Espeleta metalheads released this outstanding lp full of speed, rage, and power.
The musical references are clear - old school heavy/speed metal with strong Megadeth and Metallica (of course the '80s stuff) influences and a fine touch of NWOBHM. The production is great and the musicianship is venerable, especially the lead guitar work.
The album starts up with the cool instrumental song Todos Para Uno y Uno Para Todos, which leads to one of the album’s highlights, Multiples Personalidades, featuring killer riffs and killer vocals plus outstanding lead guitar work by Emiliano Perez. My absolute favorite song on this lp.
Frecuencia Extrema and Descarga are also amazing and full of power. The chorus on F.E. is so catchy and the drum beat just slays. The reduced version of Arquitecto de las Pesadillas (already released in Sinfonia de la Cripta, their seminal ep) is another highlight on the lp. The riffing in this song is amazing and the vocals/lyrics work perfectly together.
Trasgresores Unidos is followed by one of the band´s classic songs, Leyes, one of my personal favorites and a great song live. Here the band shows some NWOBHM influences in the riffing and the vocals. Really cool. The album ends with 3 powerful and thrashy songs like Nada mas Quedara (best lyrics on the whole album, amazing song), Sedienta Venganza, and Factor de la Destruccion (full of timing changes and excellent riffs).
Genetirkarma, the closing instrumental, plays the role of the final curtain to this symphony. A totally recommendable album by one of the best South American bands you can find nowadays. I say BUY IT!
