Greek black-thrash maniacs Chaoshorde deliver a renewed version of their EP on via Vicious Witch Records. Cassette originally releases via Metal Throne Productions.

Firing in with atmospheric riffs and classic drum fills, the immediately old school feel of the music is contagious as soaring leads take the spotlight before maniacal screams drop us right into the hellfire with pure thrashing malice. Catchy 80s fuelled riffing begins the extremity with upbeat drums and a tight groove that gets under the skin quickly with very impressive musicianship and vitriolic storms of demonic vocals. Taking lead from NWOBHM and injecting a ton of black and thrash metal barbarity in the sound, this feels like something classic but not overly derivative.

With merciless pacing that knows when to be ferocious, anthemic or just downright groovy, Chaoshorde are fantastic at writing memorable and yet violent music. Thundering bass lines break the mix of dominant guitars and snarls while the unrelenting drums cannot be forgotten, then leads swing in with grace only to dissipate and return to total chaos. Blistering and intense riffing is the main focus here which is executed triumphantly throughout and yet the songs absolutely feel like songs, not just a misshapen string of ideas, this stuff has plenty of fire. The raw edge of the music is gritty enough to send wimps running while not discolouring the talent of the duo either, which utilised melody in glorious fashion without losing aggression. 5 songs of pure sonic artillery.

Passionate and fiery black-thrash with a healthy dose of NWOBHM classiness to the sound, this is an unforgiving and brilliant example of Greek extreme metal that hits all the right points to make a memorable and furious listen from start to end without wasting so much as a second.
