My God, they just keep getting better! - 92%

It always struck me as rather odd that the best U.S. power metal in the world was from Germany .Brainstorm combines the riff power of Kreator with the melodic sense of Savatage to create a unique style. It has been two years since "Metus Mortis" and Brainstorm unleashes with "Soul Temptation" more than one hour of pure quality metal and their best album ever

The album stars off with "Highs without lows" , a mid paced powerfull song, and right from the start you know you're in for something special. Andy B. Franck vocals are the crowning glory in a band that simply does not know how to make bad songs. The next three songs are again mid paced and heavy as all hell, Brainstorm having in this album preferred to concentrate more on the song structures and melodies than the sheer 200mph double bass pumping off all other power metal acts. "The Leading" has some of the best guitar duels since Judas Priest glory days.
"The Fading" slows the pace down again for a semi-balad (Savatage like, not Hammerfall like), twisting around some memorable vocal melodies and great keyboards.
Next is the "Trinity of Lust", a trilogy of songs composed by " Shiva's Tears, Fornever and Soul Temptation". I never did really thought that Brainstorm could beat "Maharaja's Palace" from "Ambiguity", but the fact is that they did, not once, but three times!
From the opening of "Shiva'as Tears" you're treated into perfect guittar rifts and fantastic melodies, midle eastern sounds and fantastic chorus, all songs being unique but at the same time striving to tell a story, to fit as a whole.
I officially name "Shiva's Tears" the most perfect Power Metal song of all times.

The following two tracks are speed metal par excellence, with “To the Head” being particularly ferocious. Headbangers heaven! "The rising" closes the album with another superb, melody driven song perfectly crafted.

The Limited edition of "Soul Temptation" comes with the bonus cover track of Tony Christie "Amarillo's" a vacous pop-rock song that Brainstorm transformed into a killer song and a great Live DVD, recorded in Dolby Surround and 5 cameras. Talk about value for your money!

"Soul Temptation" is one of the albuns of the year, but the trully amazing fact is that, after you listen to the album, you get the definite feeling that their best work is yet to come.
Brainstorm as proved with this album that they belong in the Uber-Elite ranks of Power Metal, and are serious contenders to the title of best metal band around.

Buy this album , listen to it and then buy every other album, EP, pretzel and garden ornament related to this band.Quality is always certain.
