With the arrival of the new millennium, provided that the world didn’t finish the way few “oracles” predicted, the dormant old school spirit started showing signs of life, and even before the middle of the 00’s the situation had improved to nearly 80’s proportions. Consequently, acts like the one under scrutiny here were not such a big sensation anymore, and the fans had already warmed up to the new/old sound, ready to devour more classic thrashisms…

because this is exactly what these lads deliver here following on the steps of their peers Destruction and Sacrifice, the title-track hiding nothing underneath its sleeves with a sincere, direct headbanging approach the flag of early Destruction raised sky-high throughout the only unmitigated annoyance coming from the vocal department the guy rending his lungs in an unrestrained overshouty fashion reminding of Simon Forrest (Cerebral Fix). “Tortures of Me” calms the ball down with more patient development recalling Sacrifice’s “Flames of Armageddon” from “Forward to Termination”, but “Violator” justifies its “violent” title every bit of the way with aggressive frenetic riffage. “Devil in Disguise” keeps the alternation between the two sides going with less speedy, more melodic configurations the mid-paced fiesta boosted by the fast-paced cannonade served on “Labyrinth of Death”, a less ordinary number with a wider array of tempo-changes. The latter come aplenty on “Shattered Youth” as well which even “flirts” with more complex, progressive decisions and stylish semi-technical riffs, “Thrash Attack” being more of a speed metal attack the band wrapping it on with a more carefree, less intense approach as opposed to the more serious tone things have acquired recently.

A nice addition to the burgeoning retro thrash roller-coaster with interesting, less rigid deviations provided, the guys well aware of their inspirations, not having any intentions whatsoever to break new ground. A very similar delivery was offered on the sophomore six years later, the only change occurred behind the mike where throatier, somewhat deathy vocals were introduced to replace the previous hysterical exploits. Not very willing to tread the ungrateful path of the contemporary metal troubadour, the band only sporadically make an appearance on the field, but one should always watch out for such needful reanimation “therapies”.
