This is a fast-paced brutal song that is blistering. A song that starts off with 4 seconds of silence. This is a blistering track with fantastic growls Luigi Valenti. The guitar distortion sounds really tight and it sounds perfect. Stefano Clementini and Stefano Rossi Ciucci are talented guitarists. They totally got chops and they throw in killer riffs throughout the whole entire song. They play pretty damn fast. They’re a cool guitar duo. They sadly don’t get that much recognition in the death metal realm and I’m sure you never heard of them.
One or both the guitarists throw in some really sweet lead guitar work in this song. I would say they are technical as well. After all this band is not only brutal, they’re technical as well. The song also features Gregorian chants and that is provided by Cesare Capaccioni. It adds flavor to the song and I love it. He’s only in this song at the 1:40 mark. The Gregorian chanting only lasts about 22 seconds. You might find that part weird, but I personally love it and I think it sounds beautiful. As for the bass in this song, it’s there. The bass track is not totally noticeable, but it blends in perfectly with the other tracks found in this song. I’m very impressed by the swift drumming. Extremely well executed double bass pedal work in this fantastic song. I detect some triggering in the song. A bad thing? No, it is not bad.
This is a real damn good single. The only shit part about this is the 4 seconds of unnecessary silence in the beginning and even at the end. The ending sounds a bit off. It seems like they didn’t know how to end the song. This song gets re-recorded on their album Martyrium. The single version & album version do differer. Amazingly, the single version has super high quality production that sounds tight & well. It’s not sterile or horrid. The Gregorian chants in the album version are sadly drowned out. On the album version, they do kick it up a notch on the album version though, it sounds a bit more extreme. They also eliminate the silence in the beginning and end.
The single is fantastic, but it has its little flaws. The version found on the album is not that loud though. I think this single is more of a demo single than actual single to me. However, I will say it is mixed and mastered beautifully by Joe Cincotta. This would have been a perfect single if they didn’t have throw in the silence.
