The history of Bloke is very similar to the argentinian metal scene of those years: almost unknown. But this does not mean that Bloke wasn’t a great metal legend, together with bands like V8 or Riff. His album, called “Demolición”, affirms it. Thoughout of the nine songs, “Demolición” is lists in the sound of NWOBHM. The lyrics are also in the same line of those british bands: ‘social and political issues’, ‘heavy metal lifestyle’, ‘future’, ‘street life’, etc. Listening the album, we can find a good work of guitars, a solid drums and bass, and a very particular and rare voice.
The album starts with the song “Demolición (Mental)” (Mental Demolition, in english). It has a great guitar’s riff, with a very powerful melody chorus , which connotes the nostalgic 80’s decade. Secondly, comes the song “Antes Del Fin” (Before The End), a fast piece near to speed/power metal. His lyric is a kind of mixture between an ‘apocalyptic future’ with a ‘metal triumph’. It starts saying: “Is time to known/it that will happen us/if continues the feel of destruction/nothing will stay/only the Metal’s brightness/which between the ruins/everything will cover it”. The third track is “Paraiso Infernal” (Infernal Paradise). This is a theme into the vein of traditional metal with some hard rock’s touch. Personally, this song is not the best of the album, but it has a nice guitar solo. Ideologically, the fourth theme, have one of the best metal lyrics of this album. His name say all it: “Listo A Matar” (Ready To Kill). Musically also is enrolled in the british traditional metal. The same happens with the next track named “Identidad Real” (Real Identity), considered for many fans like the best song of this LP. In sixth order comes “Cree En La Fuerza Del Metal”, and logically, it is also pure traditional metal. The seventh song, “No Esperen Por Mi” (Don`t Wait For Me) maybe is the great Bloke’s masterpiece. It starts with a melodic intro, and later continues with other more melodic chorus. Highly commendable for the genre’s lovers. The number eigth, “Bajo El Signo Del Terror” (Under The sing Of Terror) is a politic song. A heavy metal track that speaks about the argentinian military dictatorship in the 70’s years. The last song is “Alma De Chacal” (Chakal’s Soul). It is the harder, faster and stronger piece of the album, near to speed/power metal. It has a furious voice and powerful guitars, which give a good end to the album.
As conclusion, I can say that “Demolition” is a legendary and immortal album from 80´s Argentinian metal. If you are foreing it is a good material for listen. If you like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Angel Witch, Saxon or Diamond Head, maybe you like it. In other order of things, is very important say that “Demolition” was reedited on CD in 2002. Until that year did not existed some edition in this format. Only in vinyl Lp and tape.
