Oh bloody hell. What in the name of...Ugh...Save yourself! This is quite possibly the biggest joke that metal has ever seen...whether it was intentional or not.
Alright, let's look at it this way. Goatfog was released on a minor label in 2002. First off, the production quality on this album is just terrible. Even a band with access to even the cheapest of recording ways of today could create a better quality album then this piece of crap EP.
The album starts off with some alright music, but then there is no way to stop laughing throughout the whole thing to enjoy some of the good music that lies tormented by these horrible vocals and laughable lyrics. From the track 'Pure Grave' to 'Cold Winter (Hard Penis)' (and why penises are now somehow associated with winter, no one will ever know), it stays the same course, and actually get's worse on the title track 'Goatfog' when it sound like one of the three vocalists in the group are constipated.
There seriously isn't much more to do but look at the positives and negatives of the album. The positives are that the underlying music can be good at times, and the thing is only an EP. The negatives is essentially everything else in the contents of the album.
So, whether this was intentially a joke, "Blackthrone" are quite possibly one of the worst bands out there. The lyrics are unbelievably bad, and so are the vocals. The music, while simple and cheesy at times, is quite possibly the only saving grace...if you can stop yourself from laughing long enough to enjoy it. This is definately something you will want to avoid at all costs. Unless, however, you are seriously looking for a good laugh.
