Hailing from Wheaton IL., this four piece were around for a few years, and then drifted into that realm of the forgotten. They had a small fan base, mostly consisting of teens from the Chi-town burbs (or atleast the people I knew/saw), and they were pretty active as far as putting on shows, and what not, but nothing every seemed to pan out from it all. I know the band got trashed many times over by a lot of different people, but I think most of it concetrated on who these guys were, and who their fans were. Either way, I couldnt give a toss. I recall seeing these guys live,... must of been around '99, that being were I got this, and flat out these songs are 10 times better live, than on tape. But I guess thats probably got more to do with the style they play than anything else. Overall, I dont care who they were, and who their fans are, so I'll get to the music.
As for the music, well its rather bland, simplistic, and none too original in most every way. One thing that really hurt 'em was there inability to change up their sound/style at all, and leaves all the songs on here sounding alike, and pretty boring (well its only 3 songs so its not that boring). The riffs are sorta catchy Death Metal riffs, with a slight Thrash influence, well played, but simplistic. With slight melodic leans (the solos in Brainless Christian, and in the begining of Unseen Saviour are pretty cool) these songs get some what of an atmosphere, but really the riffs are just too generic for the atmosphere to hold much impact. Also the lyrics are sorta laughable,... I would be amazed (well maybe dissappointed really) if they took much time writing these cause from what I can decipher (and the song titles for that matter) its a little overly cheesey (in a bad way, but you really can knock 'em much for that, tis a product of the times).
In short, this was a bland musical venture from some young musicians (who probably got a little too into Hypocrisy). Definitely displays some passion, and aggression, but just doesnt deliver in the riff department. I think if you can find this you might consider getting it if your a fan of Melodic Death just for the novelty of it (I'm really not sure how rare this is?), but to seek this out would be absurd. As for the band, I suppose they just never did much else, I know they were supposed to record another album (that was the talk I heard about 5 years ago) cause they had new material (which was definitely an improvement when I saw it live), but who knows what happened with that. In the end, I dont care, and I'd be pretty shocked if anyone else did.
