To start off with a name like Beyond Possession and being Canadian I wasn't sure what to expect when I first listened to this. These guys are actually pretty fucking good (much better than what I was expecting). They have a very interesting approach to the whole crossover realm. Many bands that pioneered this genre like D.R.I. and S.O.D. were all about being speedy and aggressive, but Beyond Possession is pretty mellowed out but they do have some speedy moments. Just because its not the fastest thing out there that doesn't mean they are any less hardcore or thrash than their American counterparts.
From "Tell Tale Heart" to "Dying Fast" you are hit with riff after riff with damn good bass lines to back them up. "Tell Tale Heart" has a really sweet melodic intro then after that its an onslaught of riffs. The solos are speedy and shred. The outstanding songs on this album are "Skater's Life" "No Religion" and "Vengeance". These songs shred with some really good guitar playing and bass.
Besides the music the lyrics are very well written and are poetic in a sense they are very well written and you can feel what the guys are trying to convey.
If you are a thrash crossover fan this is a must listen. The diversity they bring to the genre is very welcoming. If you enjoy when you can actually hear the bass player in your music this album is right up your alley.
