Impressions

I had the title track of this strange EP on mp3 for a long time, and liked it quite a bit. After giving in to curiosity I decided to hunt down the whole thing and eventually found an mp3 download.

The title track is basically a piano carrying some cool epic melody, back by synth-guitars, a drum machine and a raspy vocalist. It's pretty synthetic when all is said and done but has a cool atmosphere, it's the piano melody and the vocals that make it work. It's a nice little mini epic that doesn't really go anywhere but is good in a Summoning kind of way.

Unfortunately the other tracks aren't as good, even though they're all basically the same. 'Impressions' works, but 'From Beyond' and 'Epitaph' don't really do anything worthwhile (the outro isn't really anything worth speaking about). They're attempts at epicness but don't really reach an interesting level, sounding like songs accompanying a really cheap, old fantasy RPG game. 'Impressions' should be just as weak but Aragorn accidently stumble upon a winning melody and some nice vocal pacing to go with it.

It's very unlikely you'll ever find a copy of this, so just download the one good song and be done with it.
