I have a passion for bestial black death/war metal but it's sort of hard to find bands with memorable structures on their material; Riffs variety and tempo changes. Although I really love the violent, merciless fast-paced bestiality that can be found in this style of music, a lot of the bands don't seem to care about that and when you listen to their material it can be hard to recognize each song since it all sounds like bunch of tracks slapped into one whole song. Antichrist Siege Machine thankfully isn't one of them and their mind-blowing bestial war metal makes them stand above others with this outstanding EP.
Morbid Triumph is a bone-crushing 7-tracks EP packed with a good variety of memorable, catchy riffs and penetrating, ferocious drumming. This EP is pretty solid in every aspect. The guitar is pretty consistent when it comes to keeping up with the groove and the speed of the drums. Most notes a tremolo picked but charged with a good variety of power chords. Pick slides or pick scrapes can be heard a lot (If there's another term for that I'd love to know about it) adding that Conqueror/Revenge taste to it; Though Morbid Triumph leans more towards Diocletian's Doom Cult album.
The drums are aggressively played; Blast beats with accented hits keeping consistency on all aspects whether is fast, mid, or slow paced even though the tempo is fast for most of the time. The guitar and the drums do an outstanding work reinforcing and manipulating each other to create groovy rhythms. "Pillaging Christendom" and "Apostasy" are a good example of that. Songs like "Conqueror Shadow" and "Morbid Triumph" are also good examples of how they change it up a bit; They don't stick to just blast beats and randomly tremolo picked notes on the top E string between the first and seventh fret. There's even a brief solo on "Morbid Triumph" and it's the only track with a solo; It doesn't even need one anyways. This EP is very unique within this style of music.
I don't have much to say about the vocals other than they're harsh, low grunts charged with a lot of reverb which makes it blend perfectly with the chaotic drums and penetrating assault of the guitar thus creating a war metal master piece packed with bestiality and rage. I highly recommend this EP for fans of Diocletian, Proclamation, Black Witchery, Archgoat, Blasphemy, and war metal as a hole. I will definitely be anxiously waiting for their upcoming LP.
