Andralls - Massacre, Corruption, Destruction...

The Truth - 72%

ponyovdoom, July 6th, 2011

Andralls is a three-piece thrash metal band from Brazil. They've been thrashing since 1998, releasing four albums. This is their debut album released in year 2000. This album has a pretty dirty sound to it, Andralls seems take their influence from the early Brazilian thrash scene judging by their sound.

This album takes you right down to hell from first play in the song "Hate", again, the sound is dirty, and riffing pretty sharp. The drums are decent thrash drumming, nothing special here.
Anyway, the vocals in Hate kicks in about half a minute in the song, they are probably the thing making this record dirty. They are clean, but hoarse. Since the lyrics are in English you can hear the vocalist having some accent also, but it does not make the album worse or anything, it's just "fun" to notice.

Besides the album having some nice riffing and solos, it tends to get a bit boring in the end of the day. The songs are not very memorable and it takes some listens to get into the songs I'd say.
The bass can be heard at times, such as in the intro of "Fury in Your Eyes" along with the drums. But in general it's pretty anonymous. To mention the drumming again, it's decent thrash drumming, just following the riffs along and not doing much for themselves.

The production on the album is alright, you can hear the different instruments quite well, except the bass usually. The album here is a nice hellish ride, but not standing much out compared to other of the retro thrash bands. It's a good debut, and if you are looking for some retro Brazilian thrash you should check this one out.
