Out of the System

What we have here is a real hidden treasure. When people speak about the Dutch thrash metal scene most will name Thanatos and Dead Head. Surely they are the most famous ones. Third place could and should have gone to this bunch called Abacinate were it not that the band changed their name and disbanded before anything big could happen for them!

The ‘Out Of The System’ demo holds some of the best thrash metal songs ever to have come from The Netherlands. Opener ‘Garden Full Of Mushrooms’ is fast, powerful and catchy. Some may find the title a bit weird but I’ve always liked it. The other highlight ‘Sexual Abuse’ continues the level of catchiness and starts with the best riff of this demo and possibly even one of the best thrash metal riffs worldwide ever. The person who wrote this riff should get a statue. I’m serious.

The sound is very good. It’s not heavy nor dense but very light and sharp, emphasising the speed and tightness of the band and their material. The vocals are raw and very characteristic. The drums are tight, fast and furious. The guitars are so energetic they’ll make anyone drool.

I’ve seen them perform twice and there were just as good live. Such a promising new band and now so forgotten. It’s really a shame. I advise every thrash metal lover to search their ass off for this demo. This is must have material!
