I don’t reject these guys completely. They are capable musicians and quite good songwriters as well. They could have taken part in more ambitious projects if they wanted, or if they were just luckier. However, they have an unique talent to... slaughter their own good job!
First and foremost, the lyrics are as weak as they can be. At best they are just predictable and boring, at worst they are ridiculous. I strongly believe that their choice to use typical metal phrases, very common to most american and english bands, is a big mistake, since the greek language is much different than the english one and the result makes me laugh. Where are the atmosheric lyrics, the poetry, the necessary mythology to support their “epic” music? They are the first who dared to use greek lyrics (a reason to be proud), but, unfortunately, they did it badly (a reason to be ashamed).
Another problem is the singer’s voice. Although he is technically perfect, his vocal abilities do not fit metal and his fruitless efforts to immitate Halford or Dickinson is another reason to laugh! He could have been a good rock vocalist but he is not a metal singer, no matter how much he screams, trying to be tough, since his voice is in fact too soft!
Musically speaking, that band is almost as good as other famous ones, with strong songwriting and good performance. However, their bad lyrics donnot help them to have a bigger audience in their own country (metalheads are too serious in Greece to accept something that causes laughter) and the fact that they sing in greek does not help them to have an international audience too...
