"Iberian Wolves split up due to problems arising from being mistakenly considered a right-wing band."
Well... not mistakenly.
Here you have some excerpts from the interview linked below (first link):
2- ¿Cuales son vuestras influencias musicales, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional y de dentro y fuera de" la escena"?
Cada miembro de la banda tiene un tipo de influencias musicales, y del conjunto de todas esas influencias sale el sonido de iberian wolves, grupos musicales como Tormenta, Estirpe Imperial, Rienzi…Enhärjana, Boshe Onklez, Ultima Thule… son los que dentro de la escena nos han podido marcar algo.
2-Which are your musical influences, at national and international level, inside and outside the "scene"?
Each member has a type of musical influences, and of the bunch of all these comes out the sound of Iberian Wolves, musical bands like Tormenta, Estirpe Imperial, Rienzi…Enhärjana, Boshe Onklez, Ultima Thule… are the ones that inside the scene has meant something for us.
They identify a "scene" of bands like those of which they are part of. Tormenta and Estirpe Imperial are bands in the archives (openly fascist and/or racist); Rienzi is a Hardcore/RAC band from Valladolid, Enhärjarna is a "vikingrock" band from Sweden (in the archives), Boshe Onklez is a rock band that (maybe mistakenly, I don't know) is taken as a nazi.
In question number 3 they define themselves as a "patriot rock" band, which is the same term Batallón de Castigo (in the archives) uses, for example. They have played shows with them (second link) and Estirpe Imperial (first link, response #16) and, according to their Facebook, they will play with Brigada Totenkopf (in the archives) in December this year.
Additionally I included (a third link) that is a 2011 report of an Anti-semitism observatory where they state: "Iberian Wolves stand by the Nazi ideology and aesthetics at their gigs".
Their lyrics are not openly racist, antisemitic or neonazi, but they are nationalist. And the ties with far right-wing bands and collectives is not casual. Look at the 4th link. They announce their last CD will be played at Hogar Social Toledo, which is a neonazi collective (fifth link, in Spanish).
