In regards to the last report im not seeing how that’s appropriate considering whitewashing is never allowed (when a artist suddenly decides not to use his real name anymore)

There is many instances and albums credited where he has been called Dan Martin. Now he’s retracting his name to a fake one?

Instead of doing this myself i decided to just file a report to see what admin says. There have been so many artists trying to do this before so I don’t get why it’s okay now.

As I said earlier, he was listed as Dan Inlev on all band pages, so it was reasonable to change his alias to an actual alias. We do that all the time, and it's not whitewashing.

What's whitewashing is deleting the artist's real name. The one who filed the report is the one who deleted his full name:

GuardAwakening, if you have those albums, please go to each individual album and credit him as such.

Antioch - Jan 11th, 11:32 (2018)

Seems that before he filed his report, he has changed all credits to the alias, which is why Dan Inlev showed on all entries and there was no need for me to change some. Anyway, I'm slightly to blame for not noticing his crookedness. And yeah, sebwinters, fuck you and fuck this Martin bitch of yours.

had changed*

Hateful Transgression's Meaningless EP, he is listed as Dan Martin in the booklet.

I can imagine this isn't the only one he is Dan Martin in either

GuardAwakening [banned] - Jan 11th, 11:58 (2018)

I changed all of Dan's listings to "Dan Inlev" and removed his last name at his request. I have screenshots of Facebook messages from him about this, if you need proof. It was just a matter of personal privacy for him, and I was unaware that any of this was against any site rules.

I had a look at the update history of each album. Reverted all his edits, and added Daniel Martin as his real name.

The fucker said, "please note he doesn't want his real name changed" and after I closed the report he went on to delete it altogether. Wtf!?

That was a mistake on my part. He asked me after I reported his alias for changing that he wanted his real name removed. It was entirely a matter of personal privacy for him.

I believe you were all too aware of the site policies, hence your sly way of handling this.

Antioch - Jan 11th, 12:10 (2018)

You are free to believe what you like, but all I can give you is my word that I was unaware of the policies on this issue before making the changes I did. I will take responsibility and apologize for not referencing the rules beforehand, but no there was malicious intent involved.

Would it be appropriate for me to remove Dan's birthdate, photograph and place of origin, as per his request (proof below)?

Artist photos can be removed upon request, yes. Not sure about birth dates. I'll leave this to Diamhea.

@Diamhea: All done. I should've been more observant here, I admit. His initial source included a screenshot of a message from the artist saying "change every instance of Daniel Martin" to "Dan Inlev" and I didn't even stop to check how he'd gone about doing that.

@sebwinters: If Diamhea is to let this one slide, you're a lucky guy. Be upfront next time about your intentions. When you receive "a new message" saying, "while you're at it, remove my real name as well", feel obliged to report that, too, instead of making decisions yourself. Do remember that this is an encyclopaedia whose purpose is to document facts, not to present half-truths because those are more convenient. You're a veteran, almost a freak, don't fall from grace because you want to gain an artist's favor.

@GuardAwakening: Thank you!

@Antioch: Thanks for the advice; you can be very sure that I'll be more cautious and thorough in the future. I'll hope Diamhea lets me off, but if not, at least I learned a lesson.

@All: Sorry to be the cause of these issues. If given the chance, I'll do much better in the future.

albumposting - Jan 11th, 13:04 (2018)

Also, it appears that I don't actually have the ability to remove artists' photos, so if someone would please remove Dan's photograph (at his request: https://i.imgur.com/4Hk4Jw0.png), I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

albumposting - Jan 11th, 13:09 (2018)

There are pictures of him on a few of his band's facebook pages. It is not like he is trying to be private with them.

So what is left to be done here, exactly?

> Attention has been requested from: Antioch, Storm of the Light's Bane

Diamhea - Jan 11th, 16:32 (2018)

He wants the picture and the birth date removed. Other than that, everything's been taken care of.
