Obscure Musick was brought to life in mid 2010 by Matti Way and Corey Athos. Eventually personal struggle brought the label to an end.
Come 2015, Corey Athos reforms Obscure Musick with another approach. To start a label with all genres in extreme music, taken a template from Relapse Records. With help from Matti Way, Liturgy and Cinerary are aboard the OM roster which slowly gains momentum. Athos decides to sign a wide array of bands from harsh noise to black metal, to brutal death metal. Having the bigger acts such as Liturgy, Cinerary, Death Vomit, Flesh Consumed, Pessimist, Ur Draugr and many other known names to make an instant impact and bring attention to Obscure Musick. Instead of signing one band at a time he saved to sign several at a time gaining a solid roster within months.
Mid-2016 Kristen Filth joins the Obscure Musick team as Manager working with Corey Athos and various bands taking an extremely proactive part in the global extreme music genres. Recently, Corey Athos and Kristen Filth have started The Plague Zine, a branch off of Obscure Musick which covers music, art, film etc..
