Description
Contempo Records was born in 1977 as a record shop (still active nowadays). In the early 80s the founder also created a record label of the same name, greatly helping to spread the word of new wave and the new Italian rock (Diaframma, Litfiba, Pankow, Soul Hunter, Death in Venice and many others).
By the end of the 80s Contempo Records is one of the biggest records shop in Italy for alternative music, and a record label of international level.
As label was mostly active from 1984-95, specializing in electronic, industrial, and post-punk. In 2006, the label was relaunched with a new focus on indie, new wave, and rock.
