Well... there are problems
  1. When I change or edit a logo and upload it the logo does not appear
  2. the same with the pictures
  3. the update time did not change (http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=16796)

sorry for posting so many reports on Black Reign (Aus)

I do not want to start ANOTHER topic. So:

look here:
Audet:
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=42386

Both members are also in Pestium (Split up)
http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=42804
Are they members of Pestium or ex-members (to what I changed them). I have seen more pages where this problem does occur. I think that they are ex-members as the band does not exist anymore.

You have to wait approx 5 good minutes before the new logo/photo appears

Click on "Update" and click on "VIEW" on the band photo and you'll see the new logo or photo appearing

From my experience, I find clearing out my internet cache after submitting a bandlogo, picture, or album cover helps a lot.

They are ex-members in concept, but that doesn't mean you should add the "ex-" particle here, or anywhere. I consider it totally unnecessary and it's doomed to become a waste of moderator's time (I'll explain it). If it was up to me this would be strictly prohibited.

What do you conclude when you spot this in a band's line-up?
Quote:
Adrian - all instruments & vocals (Behrhem, Pestiun)

This sentence does not translate as "Adrian is also currently in Behrhem and Pestiun", but rather the more generic "See also Behrhem and Pestiun, for other bands Adrian has been involved into". You wanna know whether he's still in Behrhem? Well, that's why we have a Behrhem page, visit it!

Now, what if the line-up was in this format, what's wrong with it?
Quote:
Adrian - all instruments & vocals (Behrhem, ex-Pestiun)

Let's say Pestiun reforms. I simply go at Pestiun's page and change its status from "split-up" to "active", right? WRONG! I also will have to edit every band page where Adrian is listed as "ex-Pestiun"!

Now imagine what happens when a band whore such as Steve DiGiorgio rejoins a band he's played with before, let's say Testament. All of a sudden we have a dozen outdated pages, when it could have been just a matter of moving him from former members to current line-up.

I have dealt with hundreds of reports related to this problem, which explains my utterly despise for this procedure of adding "ex-"/"formerly in"/"also in" before a band's name.

Thanks christkiller, perdition666 and MMisantropo
Thanks for explaining it MMisantropo
That made it clear. I always interpreted in a different way but have never changed the status a bandmember was in... as I am not that long a veteran I have hardly dealt with this topic so far.

strange:
the update time did not change (http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=16796)
now the changelog works. I had added a link earlier this day and there was no change. I updated the page ... again no change... now I have added the picture of the demo and now there is a change... One of the big mysteries which cannot be explained.

I support MMisantropo´s quest against the -ex. That thing is completely useless.

As for the new images not showing up, if you use firefox just right click on the image > This Frame > Reload frame. It always works.
