Hi, there is a few things I'm missing on your site. First off there is the vocal style of the bands. I'm sure most people have different feelings about different vocal styles, so I think it would be nice to have that on the band pages. A lot of you probably thinks that the bands music genre gives away the vocal style, but that is not always the case.

Another thing I'd like you to add is a 'If you like this band you might also wanna check out ...' section. I'm constantly looking for new bands but they're not always easy to find. A method for people to vote for similar bands and then the top 5-10 voted bands would be shown on band pages, with the possibility to look further down the vote list if desired, that would be great. I.E. if I'm looking at Gamma Ray's pages and a lot of people thinks Helloween is a band I'd also like if i like Gamma Ray, it would be shown.

First idea - I don't like it at all. If genres can be confusing to describe, imagine trying to classify all the vocal styles around.

Second idea - We already created a method to put that into action, but I have no idea when it'll be implemented.

Yeah, but you don't need to pinpoint the exact vocal style. Just to get an idea of what it is. Is it growling, is it opera, is it clean, is it screaming etc. That's not so hard.

Some bands are vastly inconsistent in their singing / "singing" style, though--and I don't mean just throughout their career but in a single album .

Generally, when the style of vocals is significantly different from typical in its genre, it's noted in the genre box.

Well then that can be mentioned. A long time ago i visited a page that had this kind of info, and it worked very well. Doesnt have to be very specific, just to give you an idea of what you're walking into if you haven't heard the band before. Different styles can be mentioned just as different genres are mentioned. If some albums are inconsistent then that can be specified in the album details. Am I the only one liking this idea?

I don't think this merits its own field on the band page but maybe someone can put it the additional notes or within the album notes. For ex:

Alcest, blah blah blah blah, "Le Secret," blah blah blah blah, featuring clean vocals on track 1, blah blah blah blah.

Yeah, and there might as well be a field for stating whether the bass is picked or fingered, and another for the guitarists' string gauge of preference...
...uh, actually, I don't think it's a good idea at all.

the question is what you want to do with this additional information? What would this add to the band pages? Nothing ... nothing at all. Because the search for this particular style is ridiculous, as the results might not end up in a band or two but in a great variety of different bands that might have nothing to do with eachother; genre etc.
