Seriously, of all the death metal bands to do an hour and a half set, it couldn't have been Morbid Angel or something? It really had to be Six Feet Under?

Vader would be my nomination. Difficult to think of a DM band with a more extensive and consistently impressive discography.

I was scrolling through some of their albums on MA, and noticed that they had extremely amateurish, poorly made cover arts. This one was just perfect, though:

It's just such a perfect metaphor for their music. Just look at that derpy face!

I think Six Feet Under get a lot of hate because they're kind of overrated by their fan base, and their songs are a bit simplistic for more serious and seasoned death metal fans. There's also a number of other reasons that add to people disliking them... like the band's atrocious Graveyard Classics cover albums (some of which being downright laughable), and Chris Barnes not always having the best reputation.

I personally just find them boring and not really worth hating or liking, although I do think their debut album Haunted is decent.

Wait what.
90 minutes? That's distinctly unimpressive. Surely other death metal bands have done a show where they come on stage at 9pm and leave just after 10.30pm.

Or is it taking into account how long it feels? I just watched the lyric video for "Gore Hungry Maniac" as was getting so incredibly bored by that two-note verse riff glanced at the timer and saw it was only like 3 and half minutes. It felt like five, and it hadn't even finished.
Oh god there's a bridge after the ok solo but it's pretty much the same

Pretty sure this Death show lasted longer than 90 minutes (at least 2 hours from what I've read). Just the songs from Sound of Perseverance, Symbolic, Individual and Human are 1h33min and they played 2 more songs plus a solo plus all the time between songs. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/death/19 ... 55e3b.html

Someone pointed this on their Facebook and here's why a lot of people hate Six Feet Under.

I love the guy who told him that Carcass played a 3 & a half hour concert in Australia in 2008, and all he could say in response is "Carcass is grind, not death metal".

So what is the best SFU tune? I have barely listened to anything they have done.

It may just increase my appreciation for good death metal.

I remember that opening riff with the trills on "Feasting on the Blood of the Insane" is pretty cool.

Listening on Pandora. Seems like very simple death metal. I've heard worse.

Ok Crypt of the Devil is a pretty good song.
