Borderline Crossover Thrash

I am looking for Thrash Metal bands that were influenced by Hardcore Punk more than the average Thrash band.

I have already listened to most Crossover Thrash bands. I figured the next logical step is to look for bands that blur the lines between the two ends.

For example, Anthrax are from New York, they are friends and played close to many Hardcore bands. They had S.O.D. which helped draw both punk and metal fans to each other’s music and cease the fights between them.

Slayer released an album full of punk covers which also helped people like my friends find an entry into metal in general as well as its many related shared genres like Crust Punk, Grindcore, older Metalcore, UK82, etc.

I have listened to most of the Thrash classics such as Master of Puppets, Reign in Blood, Rust in Peace, Beneath the Remains, Pleasure to Kill, Bonded by Blood, The Legacy, Among the Living, etc.

With my favorite non Crossover Thrash stuff being Mental Vortex, Black Future, To Mega Therion, Dimension Hatross, Alice in Hell, This Godless Endeavor, Extravasation, Deception Ignored, etc.

I enjoy Hardcore Punk mixed with Metal sub genres. If you have other Hardcore Punk friendly influenced bands outside Thrash, that would also be swell.

I mostly want to explore the punkier side of metal and Thrash delivered the most in that regard with Crossover Thrash, which I have mostly exhauted.

Nuclear Assault and Sacred Reich are 2 well known bands that played with a greater punk influence without falling under the crossover thrash label.

Also, Uncle Slam!

Not sure if that's what you're searching for, but the French band Tagada Jones is actually the mirror image of what you're searching for ; a punk band with thrash influences in it.

You really should give a listen to Brazil's Ratos de Porão. They started out as a punk band, made some releases and grew in the punk scene, then later on incorporated a great deal of metal in their sound, before scaling it back and reaching a middle ground.

For the ealier really metal phase: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O13yE7G7yrg

For the newer, more balanced phase: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZk4jjT8ezE
