Lately at a local bottle shop there has been a whole lot of cheap Swedish imports. They are at the best before date, but that's never worried me. Of note has been Radanas. Every beer of theirs I've tried has been solid to outstanding.

Our local brewery has an outmeal stout called the "Driftwood". It's 10/10 for me. I'm not great with describing beer, but it's just everything I want in a dark, smooth stout.

Who's your local brewery? When I googled "driftwood oatmeal stout" a New mexico brewery called Bosque came up.

Really fucking warm tonight here in Oz, like 30 degrees still (feels like it anyway) at 11pm, so been putting a few Pirate Life IPA's away. Pretty damn tasty beer actually.

Nice!

These 3 Pirate Life beers just got available here in Norway a few weeks ago, so I picked them up:

But i can imagen that they are more fitting in summer, and not in the freezing cold we have here now :P

:-D Hey nice one! And erm, yes they are much better in the summer and heat

I'm actually rather impressed by Pirate Life, and the pale you have there is quite good too!

I actually got the Throwback IPA for free.
Ordered the IPA, but they sent me the wrong one.
So they let me keep it and refunded me.

Last night I had a ''Toasted Maple Stout'' by Lervig.
Maple stouts are so gooood.

Sweet deal you got there. I buy tons of the regular IPA, as it's damn tasty, and rather inexpensive with it and goes down well on a hot afternoon. Still brutally hot here tonight, so might have a couple more.

Best so far is Murphy's. Here in the Philippines, you can buy imported beers only on malls and it's usually repetitive. Heineken, Stella Artois and Beck's to name a few. But if you ever had a chance to visit our country, try San Miguel Pale Pilsen. Best in our country IMO.

My impression of Philippines beer is that its limited, but cheap as all hell. Also, as far as generics go, they're pretty good. A San Miguel or Red horse may not be anything too special, but they're better than most countries' green bottle trash.

I'm sure if you search around there's bound to be some decent micro brewery stuff around though, as with most countries.

Haven't really tried some of our micro brewery stuff here but will do so when I found one.

Just testet my lates brew, and English Bitter/Pale Ale.

Nice taste of caramel, some spice and fruitiness.
Only used malt/hops/yeast from England.

Do others use Untappd as well?

The Trappiste Rochefort 8 is great. I just bought the Trappiste Rochefort 10 today. Had it multiple times before.

@schizoid, just added you on Untappd.

I am really into English beers. An English IPA is in the brew plan, although I have to much planned the coming months :P
Need some nice beers for summer.
Kölsch, Cascade sinegel hop APA, blonde and more.

I'm also on untappd, I am called ''Skogslik'' there.

Cool!

I bought myself besides the quadrupel mentioned above, also some summer beers. A Dutch and Belgian session ipa, Scottish ipa and a Dutch weizen.

Anyone ever had Westvleteren? I had all three of those and they're really great! They are not supposed to be sold anywhere else but from the monastery in Belgium. Though you can get it from any liquor store around here. I suppose it's hard to get though when you're not really near Belgium.

I did read some articles recently about supermarkets selling this quite expensive and "breaking" the selling politics of the monastery:

Yeah I know, it's not a big deal actually. Like I said, pretty much every liquor store sells it for that price or even higher. This is just the first time they somehow noticed. But it's a pain in the ass to call the monks, you have a few hours per day to make an appointment and you to spend days to make a schedule and then drive there. If they don't want it to be sold for 10 euros, they shouldn't make it almost impossible to get. Crazy Christians.

I've had Westy 12. It is worth the hype, but not the price and pain it takes to get it in the states. Mind you, this was a relatively fresh bottle, and if its recipe really is as close to Bernardus Abt12 as rumored then I probably had it at the second-worst age to have it---but even at the proper age I don't think it would be worth the price tag.

I recently purchased a Motörhead röad crew beer, American Pale Ale at Drinks of the World, a liquor store in Geneva, Switzerland.
The bottle looks great and the beer taste is not bad.

Cool, I've had The Trooper beer and ACDC beer before. Didn't like the first very much but ACDC was good. It's a nice gimmick to try does beers with bandlogos on it. Oh, also had one of the Behemoth beers.

Just started my brewing process for my IPA.

And I just had a beer from Cambodia. Don't see those around here very often.

Bottled an IPA yesterday!
7%, packed with Centennial, Simcoe and Amarillo.
Looks and taste really good already.
2 weeks of carbonating now and then in my basement it goes.
Ended up with 50 0,33 bottles, and 4 0,5 bottles.

How is your IPA going, what's in it?

I had my first bottle of Landshark Lager the other night and I think it's a pretty good brew . I'm not much of a beer drinker , but I think this brand is going to be on my drink list for the foreseeable future .

Mine isn't ready yet. It contains cascade and and hersbrucker.

I went yesterday to Antwerpen in Belgium with some colleagues of mine. We went to an awesome pub I found with untappd. Great beers like the bourbon barrel aged mexicake and beer geek dessert.

Just had Death by Coconut from Oskar Blues brewery. Coconut flavoured porter. Quite weird but enjoyable.

Also had Cali American pale ale from Tiny Rebel from Wales. Great bitterness for this weather.

Duvel is from Belgium.

My favorite Dutch breweries are Jopen from Haarlem and Molen from Bodegraven.

I think that's a common misconception, to confuse Belgian products with the Netherlands. I've head people say before "I love Dutch beer" and I think, really? I can't even name one brewery (La Trappe?).

La Trappe is Dutch, De Molen is Dutch, see the picture above. Amstel and Heineken but those are really poor but somehow globally recognized. For Dutch pilsners, Hertog Jan is considered one of the best.

Other breweries known for craft beers worth mentioning are Uiltje from Haarlem, Jopen from Haarlem, `t IJ and Kees.

I don't doubt that Netherlands has good beer, but as far as famous ones goes, were only really talking Heineken and Amstel....

I reckon most normies who say they like Dutch beer are either confusing it with Belgian stuff, or simply talking out their arse.

Haven’t posted in here for a while. Currently enjoying a tallboy of Decadent Multiflora DIPA. Really good brewery that’s started to circulate where I live, and the little else I’ve enjoyed is great. Tasty, refreshing, and at about 9.6% it certainly has a kick but no noticeable booziness. For me, it’s when imperials get to about 12% and higher that it starts to really show. About $20 for a four pack but it’s simply worth it, as cliche as that sounds, and it’s not like I’m crushing them all in one sitting. Loaded up on GLBC Chillwave too, arguably their best seasonal.

Like I said, probably the first time the monks noticed it. I recently bought a bottle of Westvleteren 12 locally too for my weddingday next month.

Edit: worth mentioning was the Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout BA I had recently.

Been beer shopping today and got;

Ballast Point Sculpin IPA six pack
Rochefort 10
Stockade Brew Co Old Money BA imperial stout
Brouwerij De Molem Blade & Stone (American strong ale)
Brouwerij De Molen Bommen & Granaten (barley wine)
De Dochter van de Korenaar Charbon (smoked vanilla stout)
Exit Brewing #016 scotch ale

Some damn interesting beers here, from some interesting breweries. Tonight will be great.

I don't even know if any stores here sell Rochefort, I could be wrong, as I tend to skip over the Belgian sections due to the hefty price involved. I did however grab a Westmalle dubbel today because it was on special. Look forward to trying. Also filled up a rigger of APA of a new local brewer who seem OK.
