Hi.
Graveflowers from USA were blacklisted for being too ambient (as of 2013).
Their last album The Hyacinth Garden has some ambience too, however it is black metal.
also it is released through the label Path of Silence on tape.
Please check if it suits now

Hail,

may I submit Zodiacalius Pathologoanatomos?
Earlier this band was blacklisted for being not metal, and the first demo was really acoustic with black metal screams.
But later band published some metal tracks via Bandcamp. Be sure https://zodiacaliuspathologoanatomos.ba ... m/in-there
So may I?

That's too short for a digital release.

Hi guys,

what about Fit For An Autopsy? Can you add the band now, after they shifted their style from a generic deathcore sound towards a more post metalesque/modern death metal sound on their last last 2 releases?

Examples:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9ZIesvuAjw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWpY_9BvTt8

Thanks for your time :metal:

For the heinous crime of being a bedroom-quality, non-metallic Black Metal approximation. Which means it is not Black Metal. Blacklisted earlier this month.

The source of confusion is a non-factor, since the mods don't take tertiary elements into account - we just listen to the music. Furthermore, citing reviews from other sources is simply a waste of time, since we don't value these opinions regarding band inclusion. Otherwise every borderline band would pull out several of such "sources" as evidence, or even worse things like Bandcamp genre tags and the like. The moment we start honouring such, the site loses most of its credibility as an impartial, consistent database.

Well, now that you deleted the above post, I would take that as a sign that you are withdrawing your argument.

I would like to clarify, however, that in rare cases where there is no available material to listen to (extremely obscure old bands with only a demo or some-such to their name, for example), we take old 'zine reviews and the like at face value to verify metalness. This is why you find bands on the site with nothing in the discography from time to time. We can prove that the release existed, and that it was metal, but we don't have enough info at hand to actually add the release properly.

Hello,

you rejected the band Holiday Hookers (https://www.metal-archives.com/bands/Ho ... 540431834#) because you had no proof for the existance of their first EP.

I can give you:
Amazon: http://amzn.to/2wtdKMQ
iTunes: http://apple.co/2xNgMLY
Spotify: http://spoti.fi/2yaSGqP
Deezer: http://bit.ly/2xbhYbk

On the facebook page of the band there are also pictures and videos with band members showing the CD: https://www.facebook.com/holidayhookers

Thank You!

Hi.
I tried to upload my band, Satan's Grind, time ago but was rejected because it did not stand within the rules of the site.
Now i would like my band to be removed from the blacklist and uploaded on the site, considering that at the moment we have a release on sale on our Bandcamp page.
Thanks

I checked the bandcamp page and the release you're talking about is a digital release only 6 minutes long. Please read the rules about acceptable digital releases. But the band was blacklisted for being non-metal grindcore anyway.

Why is the Technical Death Metal band Flub from Sacramento, California blacklisted? https://flub.bandcamp.com/
They do actually have physical copies of their albums, or is there another reason?

I tried to enter them in just now, when someone posted about them in a Death Metal group I'm in, and I went to check'em out and saw that they weren't on here and tried to enter in, and said they were blacklisted.

Surprise for me that the band POSTVORTA (Italy) has been blacklisted, I don't understand why, cos they answer at all the minimum requirement to stay in this site.

https://postvorta.bandcamp.com/

I bought their last 2 albums and they are sufficiently metal to stay there, they sounds like Neurosis, like tons of post-core bands

there are SPECIFIC reasons for this blacklist ?

Sorry for bother you, I'm not involved in the band :D is only curiosity and .. I don't want to add bands and risk the ban, of course hah

Post-rock/hardcore, but the blacklisting is from 2014, so we'll have a look at the new releases.

uhm, no ... the first album is just classic POST-CORE, never done something post-ROCK (in this case I know, is rejected)

Take a fast listen, maybe I can up the band in draft for now waiting for your response

That's a live album, nothing new that already hasn't been listened to when jusging them.

Okay, granted that this...

https://intrinsiclight.bandcamp.com/alb ... ouragement

...is a live album, where do you stand on it, metalness wise? I figured the earlier studio stuff was knocked back for inadequate amounts of metal, whereas this performance was, in my estimation, almost entirely metal. If you disagree with this interpretation, how would you classify it if not under the metal umbrella?
