very good picks. I take it the impulse came from the current marduk thread? in any way, both are killer albums and imo the best from the mortuus era.

Actually no, I ordered them a couple of months ago! ;) Yeah, great albums!

Exhumed - Slaughtercult I love that bonus track vinyl being a saw blade.
Artificial Brain - Infrared Horizon One of my favorites on the year.
Immolation - Atonement Another favorite on the year.

Image

Myrkur - Mareridt I really enjoyed this. It's not anywhere near the top albums of this year for me but it does have a solid mix of musical genres and enjoyable songwriting.
Archgoat - The Light-Devouring Darkness I love Archgoat and I absolutely love this album. Also, the packaging on this is superb. Massive booklet attached inside the gatefold and everything is wonderful to look at.
Hail Spirit Noir - Pneuma An amazing album that was a long overdue purchase.
Inquisition - Magnificent Glorification of Lucifer Inquisition are always a treat to listen to!

Agreed. Somehow it's totally under the radar despite comparing favorably to the bigger melodic black metal bands that were in the scene at that time.

They're a fun band for sure, definitely some memorable lines.

I don't get why the production is so all over the place on this album. It ruined it for me and it started off so promising with that first song.

I couldn't resist some cheap deals on eBay, and this is what came in the mail first:

Black Sabbath - Mob Rules [2010 2CD edition]
Iron Maiden - Live After Death
Iron Maiden - Maiden England '88

Been meaning to add these to my collection, so I'm glad to have these classics

I’ve only picked up a handful of albums over the past few months. The new Mary’s Blood is incredible and has gone straight in my top 10. Eye is by far the best female vocalist in Japan.

Mary’s Blood - Fate
Mob Rules - Savage Land
Mob Rules - Temple of Two Suns
Running Wild - Riding the Storm: The Very Best of the Noise Years, 1983-1995

These are fun albums. I had Mob Rules' first four CDs though ended up losing interest in them with Among The Gods. Hollowed Be Thy Name was my favorite (of their first four albums); have you heard that one yet?

I prefer Savage Land to Temple of Two Suns, but Temple has much better artwork. I haven’t heard the full album, but I liked the few songs I listened to.

Cultes des Ghoules' 'Coven' has finally arrived. Haven't spun it yet since it's a concept piece but expecting majesty.
