Seems to be a point whoring from DeGa:
Modification history for an album.
As far as I know, filling timestamps and so one should be performed as a single operation.

UPD: Watching modification history in his profile makes me sad. It's not for a first time... :(

A veteran with over 4,000 points, but still adds lyrics one by one.

EDIT: Looking at his modification history even more, he has been doing this since 2013.

Maot was notified by Az back in 2014 for the lyrics thing. Keep an eye on him, the next time he tries abusing the system for points I am wiping all of them.

sure, I guess I could earn much more points doing like that. but actually I find no sense in it.
Spoiler: show
yeah, some first albums on the dawn of my "career" on MA I was doing so too  that was centuries ago and not sure if it was for real, huh

Newcomer who first added links to the link section, with ALL CAPS NAMES, and then add the same links to the bio.

EDIT: Not a newcomer actually, but a low-point user who seems to be a member of the band he updated. Anyway, should be notified about not adding links that way in the future.

Guess work lyrics on Anaal Nathrakh's latest album. Even added a question mark for parts he didn't "know".

As far as I know, there's no clear policy on which section Bandcamp links belong to. But he change them from official to official merch even when, as in the example above, the Bandcamp page has a button specifically for merch. From a logical perspective, if a page has a merch button, then the page itself is not a merch page. It would be like changing a standard homepage to the merch section just because it includes a merch button amidst the many other functions the page fills.

Not to mention the very rich usage people have for such a page without ever using it for merch. Bandcamp is in 99% of the cases much more than what a mere merch page usually is, with often full album stream for free, or at least full songs for free, lyrics, collection of links, tour dates, detailed album info, reviews, etc. The merch function is just one part of the vast majority of Bandcamp pages. Even when the merch is marked as sold out, all the other functions remain.

When the page is only for one release and tied to a label rather than the band, then it's a different story, since it would be strange to add Bandcamp to the official section if the link in question is something like labelname.bandcamp.com/albumtitle.

If I've missed a policy about this in the jungle of threads where policies are sometimes found, so be it. But it's wasting alot of people's time with all this back-and-forth changes due to some people seeing Bandcamp links in the merch sections and therefore changing those of other bands to that, and vice versa.

I honestly think that for the vast majority of bands, it would be better to have all the official links under one section and simply let the link name tell people what it is. That is, merging the official, official merch, and label sections.

I notified him, and yeah it's true that Bandcamp is more and more becoming a de facto homepage for bands as opposed to a specific merch option ala iTunes or whatever. It's better to adhere to a site-wide standard and I try to correct this whenever I see it.

not whoring, but if someone could follow this user around and fix his edits (capitalization, I think his catalogue numbers are invented)... he's the band's singer and means well (probably), and he's making the band page fuller, but he's an m-a newb :/

Ok, this is weird... How does this guy have ~31,500 points with only ~1,500 modification history edits? From looking up his profile on the board, it says he joined in 2015 so he wasn't around during v1.

EDIT: His points just increased by about 40 without him making any edits...

He was using an exploit, banned. He also registered a lot of sockpuppets for band vote rigging and evaded the blacklist. Busy dude.

Wouldn't this be grounds for sharing Phsphs' skepticism? For someone who's willing to go to such lengths to manipulate data, faking a band isn't such a taxing endeavor.

I honestly doubt that line-up is real. I guess it is possible for a band to go have had that many past members, but it seems highly unlikely. Also the fact that the line-up says they had 3 bassists in 2014, 2 in 2010 both active at the same time, and 2 drummers in 2010...

Not to mention, the lone original member was 44 in a band "formed in 1985". At most he was 12 at formation (not unheard of but rare without someone older alongside, like was the case with Enslaved and Decapitated), but then there was a 28 year old and a 17 year old in the current lineup. I highly doubt a band "that old" wants that big of an age disparity nor would be founded by one guy at that young of an age, Iron Curtain or not

Why do I say this? I brought this up to Az on IRC a while back.
