Greetings!

This Friday, for any purchase made on Bandcamp, we will donate 100% of our share of the proceeds to the American Civil Liberties Union, who are working to oppose last week’s Executive Order barring immigrants and refugees from seven Middle Eastern countries from entering the United States. Please read more about our position here https://daily.bandcamp.com/2017/01/31/b ... man-rights, and help us spread the word.

Bandcamp.

I like bandcamp and I think they should stay out of politics. They could have donated the money quietly but they decided to "rub our noses in it", or "show leadership on an important issue" depending on what your personal politics are.

As a result, I have announced that all my releases will be free on that day.

What do you think, MA?

I dunno, private companies are well within their rights to advocate or oppose political decisions in whatever manner as they deem fit, don't really see what the big deal is. Of course I would consider not supporting a business that advocated something I was intensely opposed to, but I never understood why people get upset about the sole *principle* of businesses/companies speaking out about something political.

Well they are free to use their share of the money however they like, and you are free to do what you like with your share.

That's the price you pay for using a privately-owned service.

This thread is dumb.
