I figured I'd make a thread for two of the most insane genres of music ever created. All things goregrind and pornogrind can be discussed here (gorenoise is welcome too). Feel free to share some songs as well.

Nothing really beats "Reek of Putrefaction" for me, as far as that style. It seemed like that album was the beginning and the end of it as far as goregrind- I still love it, but all the newer bands that play it- they either don't have the same bulldozing grinding power that album did, or it just sounds so cliche'd by now it doesn't really do it for me anymore. I don't like the barnyard animal vocals either that some of these bands do; Carcass's growls and shrieks really did that style a lot more justice than all these "creeeepy Piiiiiggggy" vocalists.

I'm not really into pornogrind at all, but I'm not gonna criticize here it either.

stuff like Last Days of Humanity- I can listen to it for a few minutes; its so over the top pure noise its like a novelty and is kind of funny, but after that, it gets monotonous real fast. I mean, its cool and kind of entertaining at first but after like 5 minutes of pure bonging snare drum insanity, its like "Okay , I get it."

One goregrind album I've been getting into recently (I know its kind of a famous one) is Dead Infection's A Chapter of Accidents. I really like their slippery, wonky riffing style. Just a really fun and wacky album.

Not into pornogrind, as I find it a little too cheesy and not so morbid as I've come to expect from good goregrind bands. Regurgitate, early Carcass (of course), Squash Bowels, Bile, Birth, LDoH, Disgorge, G.O.D., Meatal Ulcer, Dead Infection though? Mmm-mmm. 'Tis a recent thing with me, this subgenre, but dang I'm a baby-in-arms to the organic, dark and "churning" sound of the bands I listed. Instant love.

Yeah, I hear you there. I can't even hear any guitars, only snare drum madness. It's intriguing for a little while but hearing an album of it might be a bit much. Still better than pornogrind, though.

Good band. Love Songs is pretty cool.

LDoH's first album isn't the same kind of snaredrum hell that the latter stuff (ESPECIALLY the third album) is. There's guitars on that last album but they're very buried, as said, plus they hardly vary at all.

I reviewed Carnal Diafragma's Space Symphony album awhile back; it was good. Haemorrhage is another that hasn't been mentioned here as well as General Surgery and maybe County Medical Examiner. I love that heavy guitar sound these bands tend to have, but the annoying drum mix and bad to the point of near-incomprehensible production can get old fast. I don't think I've ever sat and listened to a pornogrind band, and I haven't heard enough about it to really care.

Why is this in the tavern? The last time I checked, these were considered metal styles.

I think most of the porngrind is not considered metal and quite some of the 'groovy goregrind' either.
Thinking of Rompeprop, Gut, Cock and Ball Torture, Satan's Revenge on Mankind etc. all go a bit more to the punkish influence grind and are hence not included here.
For me there are some bands that are just a miss such as the extreme techno influenced stuff (Tourette Syndrome comes to mind) but I can listen an album of S.M.E.S. because it is funny. Stuff like Kots, Feaces Eruption are drum computer stuff as well but more focused on being an insane drummer so that is fine for me.

I do own a lot of goregrind cd's but lately I haven't been up to date of the genre because I listen more to death metal nowadays.

Dead Infection's A Chapter of Accidents is such an insane album, really enjoy it and LDOH can always randomly turn up in the shuffle for me as well. Their old stuff is classic but their last albums are just insane fast with Marc beating the snare to death.

I always wonder if there are any goregrind/pornogrind bands out there that are female fronted or are all female bands.

I can't really imagine too many females being interested in pornogrind bands honestly. It just isn't the kind of thing I can see women wanting to participate in; it would be akin to a black guy forming a NSBM/RAC band. Goregrind, well maybe; although I don't personally know of any (well, Nuclear Death weren't exactly goregrind, although lyrically they leaned in that direction.)

Speaking of Last Days of Humanity, this video cracks me up every time: Sesame Street fans rejoice!

As far as goregrind goes, I like Carcass' early stuff but that's about it.

I don't like pornogrind at all, or even really understand the appeal of it.

Oh do any of you guys consider Intestinal Disgorge goregrind? It's a terrible band but there's a very strong feeling about them that's characteristic of that genre.

I think Last Days of Humanity have a woman bassist.

Anyone who doesn't much care for pornogrind should check out the first Rompeprop album at least. Super fun, super catchy groovy as fuck grindcore. No disgusting porn samples either, so it's all around great.

Some Goregrind I'd say is good:
Carcass (early)
Cliteater
The County Medical Examiners
Dead Infection
Guineapig
Haemorrhage
Last Days of Humanity
Lymphatic Phlegm
Regurgitate

For the more death metal side:
Butcher ABC
General Surgery
Impetigo
Spasm
Urobilinemia

That's about all I got into in that area. Pretty much all of those are IMO worth checking out in some form.

I liked S.M.E.S. sometime back in 2006 or so (and this is while they were still listed on the Archives!) but if I try to listen to anything by him I just register it as a drum machine spazzing out with pitchshifted grunts and electronic noises desperately trying to be guitars playing.

If it's all female, the misogyny that the porngrind bands have would be replaced by extreme misandry.

That would actually be a welcome change!

The closest band I can think of is Gutfuck, who have a female guitarist, but they're classed as brutal death and also quite terrible.

The member of infester were in the band Meatshit with albums like ''give hate a chance'' (nsfw) https://a4-images.myspacecdn.com/images ... 00x600.jpg

In some of their songs we can see the influence of Infester
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dTutbfTbWY
They are certainly not politically correct

Hey there guys!
First of all +1 on Urobilinemia dude.
I would like to get into some gore/pornogrind but first can anybody explain how exactly is it any different from slam/brutal death or deathgrind for that matter?
Is it just the lyrical content and pitch-shifted vocals or am I missing something here?
Thanks in advance!

Gore/pornogrind is more groovy first of all. However, not in a slam way, as that is more syncopated and less chaotic sounding. Gore/pornogrind (esp. porno) is groovy in a more punk fashion. You'll hear very distant but still explicitly present similarities between, say, early Regurgitate and, I dunno, Discharge only because of the style of groove. Second, production is much murkier, even compared to those Enmity-ite SDM bands. You'll hear a lot of churning in goregrind, less so in porno though, I think.

I always thought of deathgrind as simply more chaotic death metal.

When listening goregrind then mostly carcass or some old school goregrind compilation. From pornogrind I mostly listen cock and ball torture and torsofuck, kind a like that groovy stuff.

Always been fascinated by Gore Beyond Necropsy's "Noise a go go".

All these newer groovy goregrind releases that's all dancable and stuff I don't get at all, it's great for a break in a song, but I prefer my goregrind to be more grindcorish. I do like older Rompeprop though and I love stuff like Regurgitate, Couple Skate, Pizza Hi-Five though.

Some other cool bands/releases:

Grotesque Organ Defilement - Body Horror, pretty insane and varied grindcorish goregrind:

Pulmonary Fibrosis - Organ Maggots, bit more groove in this one:

Weedeous Mincer - Brain Devoured by Mincegore, some of the better danceable goregrind:

Parfumerie - Transmundane And Unprofessional Delocation Of Superfluous Extremities And Rare Tissues, wet, disgusting goregrind:

EDIT:

Forget to mention these guys

Clogged - Clogged, members of The Kill, Super Fun Happy Slide and Roskopp:

I've always felt Gruesome Stuff Relish was a little underrated. At least their early stuff.

I've never been too much into either, even though I've had a long running affair with Grindcore itself. I do however enjoy Exulceration and Putrid Offal who are two veterans in the scene.

Here's something from their split:

I've got a question guys.
Is there any goregrind band that has ever 'made' it? Speaking by extreme metal standards of course. Also Carcass doesn't count. I mean even slam & brutal death by extension are relatively popular these days. In fact, bands like Abominable Putridity, Wormed, Defeated Sanity, Devourment, 7. H. Target & Disentomb have released some pretty legit stuff over the last few years, some even worthy of AotY praise. Although I can find listenable to decent bands once in a while but is there anything remotely interesting/original happening in goregrind at large?

I think:
Regurgitate
Last Days of Humanity
Gut
Cock and Ball Torture
Rompeprop
are quite some bands that have toured a lot in most continents and have some respectable albums within their scene of course with Regurgitate being the most Metal one and maybe not truly counting in this thread.
Lymphatic Phlegm maybe.
I have been out the scene a bit after quitting my band and going more to Death Metal

On second thought, whenever the subject of goregrind is brought up those bands are indeed the first ones to be mentioned. Didn't know that they toured internationally though.

Also, what is the name of your band Rompestromper?

The name was Rompestromper, hence my account name, it was on MA once, but I filed for it being removed for lacking the metalness and Azmodes agreed. I'll pm you the digital cd when I have my hard drive connected, it is not great but it was good fun.

yeah that is a great record, also their part on the split with Cunt Grinder and Hymen Holocaust is really enjoyable. Love that snare sound, I'll check my collection if there is some more for you in this trend.

speaking of all that goregrind in here, my fave album of all times in this subgenre is definitely haemorrhage's debut emetic cult. nothing beats that one.
