Horn's new album 'Feldpost' is due for release on the 16th of November through Northern Silence and like the return of old friend it is something I am looking really forward to. Nerrath's work has always been a favourite of mine (especially the earlier albums) and quite a unique style of black metal truth be told. Anyway he has premiered a new track 'Wache Schreibt... ' which translates as Guard Writes, continuing the war themes present on his more recent work. The track sounds great, epic and atmospheric, reminding me of his earlier work from the likes of his Naturkraft release which is something I am quite happy about. The production is probably his best yet and pleasing on the ears. Check out the link below.

"Wache schreibt" is the third installment on "Feldpost", a melodic mid/uptempo piece revolving around a look-out's nightly letter from the trenches of the Winter War.

Love that intro

I'm not THAT big into black metal, but I really like that song (and unique bands). Thanks for sharing!

I will listen to it ASAP. The last album was not exactly what I wanted from him so it would be great if this new opus is a comeback to the band´s old sound.

Thanks for sharing it!

I was skeptical because of the album art, but thankfully it does sound like his earlier works(as STORMM alluded)

Yeah, I enjoyed the last album but not as much as the earlier efforts. It was a darker less atmospheric affair. If the rest of the album is as strong as this track I will be quite happy!

Yeah, the track is quite good, I think that the cover doesnt suit this return to the roots but my expectations with new album are now much higher.

I've never heard this band but this song is pretty damn cool, I'll have to visit his discography.

You guys are familiar with his doom project Cross Vault also on Northen Silence? Their debut was quite ok and there's a new one coming in November. http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Cr ... ing/529808

Im am indeed aware of Cross Vault but never looked into them in detail so thanks for the reminder Tony! He has another funeral doom project called Licht Erlischt… as well as numerous other bands but for me Horn has always been the jewel in his crown. The first three albums are the best and well worth checking out, he has kind of his own style going on.

I'll have to check out the song later but I've always loved his work. The earlier albums have a special place for me, some of the first black metal tracks I got into. Album covers a little dull but its all good.

Edit: just listened to the song and it's very solid, love the riffs on there and the production is by far the best I've heard from him. Good shit.

Another new track up guys and guess what, it sounds great as expected :) Bit more of a rockish vibe in this one. This album will be a highlight this year for sure.
