New P.L.F. album already? I still haven't listened to the last one enough, and I still haven't listened to their split with Birdflesh. Speaking of that split, I got some records in the mail from Haunted Hotel Recs yesterday, and the cardboard he used to secure the records during shipping had "PLF/Birdflesh test press" written on it.

EDIT: Fuuuuuuuucckkk, that new PLF song sounds like if you took a song from Butchered at Birth and fed it a handful of uppers, I'm backing this HARD. Also, that new SFHS stuff is cool too! Yay for new grindkerz

Hey all, looking for some recommendations on good Deathgrind.

Big fan of bands like Rotten Sound, Insect Warfare, Wormrot, as well as bands like Nile, Vader, old Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, etc. So far I haven't found much luck with good deathgrind bands that mix the ferocity of grind with the heaviness of death metal.

I love Misery Index and Lock Up, so anything similar to that would be excellent (I've already listened to all the 'similar artists' here on EM). I'd like to find some that are crustier and some with cleaner production as well.

Have you heard Assuck? Check out their album Misery Index man. You might like Mumakil too.

I would recommend the band "Gored" from Germany. There are a few slower doom parts but don't expect too much. Good stuff though...

Requesting grindcore with black metal-like vocals; you know, shrieking, very treble-heavy, almost sharp as opposed deeper, bassy growls.

So, it's June, what are some of you guys' favorite 2014 grindcore/related releases thus far? I think Internal Rot "Mental Hygiene" has taken first half gold for me. It's just an unrelenting, excellent sounding record from start to finish. I really wish I could've seen them on their recent tour. :(

I've got nothing for 2014 so far but here are last years favourite PWV releases:

МИША! - Кузбасс Массакре (2013) (RUS)
http://mishapxv.bandcamp.com/releases

Another Way - Az Idő Rövid Története (2013) (HUN)
http://anotherway666.bandcamp.com/

Gotta love that cover, for PWV this is totally legal:

I just listened to the new P.L.F./ Birdflesh split and that definitely went right to the top of my list for favorites so far

I've neglected both new Column of Heaven and that PLF/Birdflesh split, need to check them out. Oddly enough though, the records I ordered from Haunted Hotel recently came shipped in the cardboard that the test pressings for that split came in.

I guess I've been really behind on the times because I had no clue there were two new PLF full-lengths in the past year or so. Going to have to check that stuff out.

Anyone got some seriously heavy modern death/grind for me with a slight emphasis on grind more than death? (e.g. Cancerous Womb)

give Patisserie a shot. There are some live recordings floating around with real drums, but I don't mind the drum machine much at all in this band's case. Everything they've done has been quality.

Internal Rot takes the cake for first half of this year for me too but that new PLF LP is no slouch either. Super Fun Happy Slide's new one is a ripper too. There's a ton of splits I need to check out but those have been getting most of the plays from me.

I jammed the new PLF stuff (full-length + split w/ Birdflesh) and the Super Fun Happy Slide album, and I've gotta agree, they're pretty fucking close to that Internal Rot record! That one still edges them out though, what a fucking ripper. I also jammed the new Nekro Drunkz record last night about five times in a row, THAT thing is also a fucking ripper. It's like a way more grindy Impetigo record with waaaaaaayyyy sleazier lyrics. And speaking of splits, I can't forget about the Misanthropic Noise/Violent Gorge split. I only spun it once last night after it came in the mail, but it's a doozy as well and will probably end up being a favorite from this year.

Been out of the loop for a bit. What's worth checking out? I've been listening to too many Archgoat and Incantation clones recently.

Also, check this news out.

internal rot/manhunter split is good; digging manhunter more though.

Enjoying shfs more this time around. always felt bad for disliking a band with a simpsons name (although it came natural with fallout boy). thanks for the recs.

Looks like Water Torture have an LP under their belts.

First listen and it's a bit underwhelming.

No offense, but you guys should step up your game, because there is another Internal Rot half-a-planet away from you guys that is wiping the floor with almost everybody in the grindcore game nowadays.
